What's new

First Multiversion Release

  • Xenofactions is now available as a multiversion project supporting Minecraft 1.7.10 and 1.16.5.

    • The 1.7.10 version continues the established Xenofactions experience.
    • Minecraft 1.16.5 is being released as a beta while the native port receives broader multiplayer and production testing.
  • Ported the core faction system to Minecraft 1.16.5.

    • Create, join, leave, rename and disband factions.
    • Applications, ranks, kicks, leadership transfers and MOTDs.
    • Faction creation cooldowns and new-player PvP protection.
    • Existing faction identities and supported legacy data are preserved.
  • Ported cities and faction territory.

    • Found and upgrade City Centers through five levels.
    • City territory, capitals, faction homes, relocation and transfers are supported.
    • Faction homes remain at their exact position when still inside a relocated city's rebuilt territory.
    • Added faction, allied, neutral, enemy, safezone and warzone protection.
    • Restored city foundations, Officer Chests, bankruptcy/build-grace behavior and administrator zoning tools.
  • Ported diplomacy and warfare.

    • Alliances, enemy declarations and formal wars are available on 1.16.5.
    • Includes war costs, ceasefires, surrender, peace offers, city transfers, allied defense and timed generation tribute.
    • Conquest Flags and faction capture mechanics have also been ported.
  • Ported the faction economy and prestige systems.

    • Hourly prestige generation and upkeep.
    • War costs, deposits, crisis/collapse states and fallen-faction penalties.
    • Withdrawals remain disabled in maintained versions.
  • Ported core faction utilities.

    • Warp Tents and faction travel.
    • Faction and alliance chat.
    • Public faction prestige/rank prefixes.
    • Mute and ignore support.

    • Built-in faction flags and stone-drop rewards.

    • Stone Walls.
    • Brick Walls.
    • Great Wall masonry.
    • Palisades.
    • Reinforced Berlin Walls.
  • Improved Earth-map border handling.

    • Earth boundary wrapping now respects full configured exemption regions.
    • Dropped items, NPCs, vehicles and other non-player entities can remain inside border exemptions without being wrapped.
    • Mounted entities and vehicles cross Earth boundaries more reliably.
    • Fast crossings and very large movements are handled more safely while preserving normal wrapping outside exemption regions.
  • Improved GTNH/Dynmap integration.

    • City, claim, zone, TDM, border and point markers now resolve against the correct GTNH/Dynmap world IDs.
    • Automatic dimension mappings are supported while retaining custom overrides.
    • Marker publication updates as worlds load and unload.
  • Added the expanded XShop and faction market system.

    • Administrators can create, rename, delete, configure and link persistent server shops.
    • Shop renames preserve existing block links and offers.
    • Administrators can trade directly from XShops and access configuration from a dedicated Configure button.
  • Added Global Market Terminals for faction capitals.

    • Officers and leaders can place one active market terminal for their faction.
    • Faction members can search and browse server-approved shops.
    • Private, disabled and admin-only shops are excluded from the faction market.
  • Added formal faction capitals.

    • The founding city becomes the initial capital.
    • Leaders can designate another city as the capital.
    • Capital changes use a configurable seven-day cooldown.
    • Faction homes must be inside the designated capital.

    • Repeated currency costs are charged correctly.
    • Inventory overflow is handled safely.
    • Trading respects current shop permissions and availability.

  • Removed automatic Builder Contract rewards from city founding.

    • Founding a city no longer grants or drops a Builder Contract.
    • Existing Builder Contracts remain usable and can still be distributed through creative mode or administrators.
  • Restored faction border feedback on 1.16.5.

    • Crossing faction, city and zone borders displays faction flag notifications.
    • Restored border-crossing sounds and nearby border particles.
    • City Center and Conquest Flag rendering supports normal world lighting and faction colors.
  • Performed a major maintained-content cleanup.

    • Removed abandoned RF, oil, nuclear, weapon, stock/tax, block-health, NPC/Builder and obsolete production content.
    • The Production Line remains available without its old power requirement.
    • University research and maintained faction, map, shop, TDM and world systems remain supported.
    • Removed the obsolete custom steel progression; maintained components now use iron where applicable.

1.16.5 Beta

The 1.16.5 port now contains the main faction, city, territory, diplomacy, war, prestige, protection and utility systems needed for public testing. Some systems from the mature 1.7.10 version are still being migrated or validated, so the 1.16.5 release should be treated as a beta rather than a complete replacement for the established 1.7.10 version.
