Warring Nations: BlueMap
WN BlueMap integrates Warring Nations with BlueMap. It adds a political map layer showing nation territory, active wars, diplomatic relations, and villages using the current state of Warring Nations. Changes are reflected automatically as claims, wars, diplomacy, and other relevant data change.
Server-side only. No client mod or additional configuration is required to get started.
Documentation: See the configuration reference for available settings and the rendering documentation for geometry, rendering, and performance details. Discord integration is documented on the WN BlueMap page.
Map layers
WN BlueMap provides four independently configurable layers:
| Layer | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Nations | Claimed territory for each nation, including terrain-following borders, ground tint, and region information such as tier, leader, members, allies, enemies, and capital name. |
| Active Wars | Contested areas between nations, including war information, scores, and siege or objective markers. |
| Diplomacy | Relations between nations, including alliances and rivalries. Disabled by default. |
| Villages | Village territory using a separate, lighter map overlay. |
Map geometry is regenerated when relevant Warring Nations data changes. Nation borders follow the actual terrain height instead of using a fixed Y level, allowing them to display correctly across hills and uneven terrain.
The resulting map is public and consistent for all viewers.
Performance
WN BlueMap is designed for large claim sets. Rebuilds are triggered by Warring Nations events and debounced so rapid changes are combined into a single update. Ground scanning and geometry generation are spread across server ticks using five pacing levels, with per-nation caching to avoid recalculating unchanged data.
Optional Discord integration
With WN Discord installed, WN BlueMap can send war declaration and conclusion notifications to a configurable Discord channel with a link to the relevant map.
WN Discord is optional and is not a hard dependency. If it is not installed, BlueMap rendering continues to work normally.
Public map information
WN BlueMap intentionally limits the information exposed through the public map.
It does not display:
- Capital coordinates
- Live per-chunk capture progress
- Cross-dimension diplomacy lines
- Ordinary FTB personal or party claims
The map instead exposes information appropriate for a public political map, such as nation territory, war status, diplomatic relations, villages, and relevant public nation information.
