Nations Wars Diplomacy Territory API

Adds player-run nations, diplomacy, and live wars by integrating directly into FTB Teams and FTB Chunks. Nations are FTB party teams and claims are FTB Chunks claims: no second membership list, no second claim map, and no separate set of screens to learn. Warring Nations injects its own UI directly into FTB's own team screen instead of bolting a second mod's worth of menus on beside it.


NATIONS

  • Granular per-role permissions: create, rename, reorder roles, and toggle individual permissions per role.
  • Nation tags and colors, shown next to your nation's name everywhere it's displayed, including as a small banner icon next to your name in chat, with the tag on hover.
  • 174 premade banner designs, plus a full in-game painter (12-color gradient palette, 24 heraldic charge stamps) for a nation to create its own from scratch.
  • A single tabbed entry screen for players without a nation yet: Browse (search/filter open and application-based nations), Create, and Notifications (pending invites and applications).
  • Open, application, or invite-only join policies.
  • Optional staff approval for new nations, banner changes, and war declarations, with or without the Discord addon (see Admin & API below).

PROGRESSION

Level Tier

Two independent systems, deliberately not one:

  • Level rises automatically from net-new territory claimed (an all-time claim peak, so unclaim/reclaim cycling can't farm it) and raises your claim cap as your nation grows.
  • Tier (Province through Superpower) is assigned by staff to reflect real build-progression milestones the mod has no way to judge on its own. Tier sets a nation's troop cap and decides the outcome of Conquest wars (below).

TERRITORY

Claims

  • Claim caps scale with nation member count and level, with staff-grantable bonus claim slots on top.
  • Players without a nation yet are capped at a single starter claim, with an in-game nudge toward founding or joining one once they hit it.
  • Environmental protection for:
    • Explosions
    • Pistons
    • Mob griefing
    • Crop trampling
  • Protection automatically respects allies, enemies, and active wars: a claim isn't simply "safe" or "unsafe," it depends on who you are to its owner.

  • Live-frontline chunk capture
  • Attrition
  • Siege
  • Objective-based
  • Negotiated
  • Conquest, decided by nation Tier rather than raw numbers: a Superpower can overwhelm a Province in a handful of captures, while the reverse is near-impossible.

Diplomacy

  • Ally, neutral, and enemy relations. Alliances are mutual-consent (request/accept), not a unilateral flag.
  • Peace treaties and a diplomacy history log.
  • Relation-colored territory on the map.
  • War history and a server-wide leaderboard (power, claims, level, members, or wars won).

ADMIN & API

Discord API

  • A full /wn admin command set: moderation, nation/banner/war approval queues, claim and diplomacy management, a player lookup, and a server-wide stats summary.
  • Optional wn-discord addon:
    • Approve/Deny buttons for staff-review queues
    • Raw audit-log channels (every admin command, every nation/war/diplomacy event)
  • A public read API (WarringNationsAPI) and event API (WnEvents) for other mods to query nation/war/claim state and react to changes without touching internal types.

WORKS WELL WITH

Separate, optional addons; none are required:

  • wn-siege: lets Create- and TaCZ-style cannons and guns actually breach an enemy nation's claim protection once you've declared war on them; harmless otherwise.
  • wn-bluemap: renders your nations' territory, active wars, and alliances live on a BlueMap web map.

REQUIRED DEPENDENCIES

Due to deep mixin integration, these exact versions are required. A different build will fail to load rather than misbehave.
