Curse Maven Snippet
Version 0.2.0
Feature: Bundled Feathers
- A 3x3 group of Feathers can be crafted into a Bundle of Feathers, and crafted back into nine Feathers as needed.
- These blocks can be simply used as a condensed storage solution, or placed into the world.
- An entity falling onto a Bundle of Feathers will experience reduced fall damage, but the Bundle of Feathers will be broken. The fall distance threshold and damage reduction are both configurable.
- If these blocks are displaced by flowing fluid, they break down into nine individual Feathers.
Feature: Cushions
- Cushions are crafted two at a time from Fabric or Wool and some String around a suitable stuffing, such as Hay Bales or a Bundle of Feathers.
- These slab-like blocks will ease the fall of things that fall upon them. When landed upon, each individual Cushion will decrease the effective fall distance by 20%. This means a stack of three pillows (without gaps in the stack) will reduce fall damage by about half (Original * (1.0 - 0.2)^3). These values is configurable.
- They're squishy, so entities standing on them will sink in a bit and experience slowed movement.
- Available in 16 standard colors and a "plain" variant.
- Like Bundles of Feathers, they will be washed away by flowing fluids.
Feature: Sturdy Baskets
- Sturdy Baskets are Baskets that retain their inventory when broken, much like Shulker Boxes.
- They're crafted by applying a Turtle Shell to a Basket in the Smithing Table.
- They still have the same inventory size as a normal Basket (4x4, 16 stacks), and still capture dropped Items.
- When pushed by a Piston, they break and retain their contents. I wonder what this could be used for?
- Sturdy Baskets cannot contain inventory-bearing items such as other Sturdy Baskets or Shulker Boxes, but Shulker Boxes can contain Sturdy Baskets. Furthermore, ordinary Baskets can still contain Sturdy Baskets or Shulker Boxes.
Improvements: Fiber Bales
- Retted Fiber Bales are now their own block. Previously, Fiber Bales of a sufficient age would drop Twine. Now, they convert themselves into Retted Fiber Bales at the appropriate age.
- Retted Fiber Bales drop Twine in the same way that Fiber Bales did previously, so there are no real mechanical differences (other than there being one more aging step - sorry!)
- The Retted Fiber Bale item is unobtainable via ordinary means (with the default inbuilt datapack), but modpack makers could conceivably use the newly-differentiated item for their own purposes, for example if they want to add an additional processing step during or after the retting process, or parallel processing steps using other mod mechanics.
Improvements: Baskets
- Baskets of all kinds now properly output a comparator signal like other inventories.
- Baskets of all kinds will properly perform rotations when asked, for functionality that does this (such as structure generation)
Improvements: Configuration File
- The configuration file was turning into a huge mess. Many configuration options have been recombobulated into sensible categories.
- This does mean that existing configuration files will probably not transfer from the previous version. I'll try not to do this too often. Apologies for any inconvenience!
Bugfixes: Recipes
- Fixed: The inbuilt datapack had an error in the Wicker recipe that lead to two seemingly duplicate recipes from Sugarcane and Sticks, rather than one from Sugarcane and one from Flax Stalks as intended.
- Fixed: The inbuilt datapack was overriding base-game recipes for Beds, Carpets and Banners erroneously.
Internal Changes
- Minimum required Forge version has been increased to the reccommended release 36.2.0.
- Internal restructuring and cleanups emphasizing consistency, maintainability, and reliability
