Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Wild Hunt 0.3.0
First, sorry this one took longer than the last few. Updates slowed down for a while, and I know some of you were waiting on things I'd said were coming. They're here now, and there's more of them than I first planned. Thanks for sticking around.
The grounds come alive. This update is about what happens between you and the monster.
New: Guild orders
- A second board at the Guild Receptionist. Take an order, bring the counter what it wants, get coins, rank points and a reward box.
- Carry up to three orders at once, and carry them into a hunt.
- Fourteen orders across the ranks: overworld goods, things gathered on the grounds, meat and hides from the wildlife, and spare monster parts — including the parts nothing used before.
- Repeatable orders post themselves again after a cooldown.
- The smith gives the first order in Chapter 1, before your first hunt.
- Carried orders and their progress show on the HUD.
New: Gathering on the islands
- Herb patches, bone piles and ore veins scattered over every hunt island. Right-click to gather; three gathers and the spot is spent.
- Monster leavings in a ring outside the lair: a shed scale, a tuft of pelt, a flake of stone, from whichever monster lives there.
- New item: Wild Herb. Two herbs and a bottle craft a Guild Potion in the field.
New: Wildlife
- Three passive animals in herds on every island: the Duskhare, the Bristleback and the Moorhorn.
- They graze, keep to their herds, run from whatever hurts them and from the monster itself. The Duskhare bolts when a hunter walks up, so sneak or use a bow.
- New items: Duskhare Pelt, Bristleback Hide and Moorhorn Hide, which craft into leather; Raw Meat, which cooks into Well-done Steak, a big meal with absorption on top.
New: Hunting Horn
- A new weapon class. Every swing plays a note; the last three notes on your stave spell a song, and a Recital plays it for everyone in earshot. An Encore doubles the length.
- Seven songs: Self-Improvement, Attack Up, Defence Up, Recovery, Endurance, Storm's Blessing (thunder behind every hunter's weapon), and the Thunderclap.
- Sneak + attack pokes with a note you choose, so every song is reachable; the HUD shows which song the loaded note would complete.
- Stormcry, the Skarn horn: forged from Skarn parts at rank 3.
Fixes
- Guild screen lists scroll when there is more than fits.
- Hunting Horn HUD sits clear of the action bar and shows the active blessing with its time left.
