Wild Hunt
Monster hunts for NeoForge 1.21.1. Take a contract at the guild, track an apex monster across its own hunting grounds, break its parts, capture it or bring it down, carve it, and forge its bones into weapons and armor. Solo or with up to four hunters.
Requires GeckoLib and PlayerAnimator.
The monsters
Three apex monsters, each with a full moveset, breakable parts, a rage or charge mechanic, a capture window and a second phase or form.
- Ashfang, the ember wyvern. Fire breath, fireballs, tail slams and a rage that sets the arena burning. Break the horns, sever the tail.
- Skarn, the Storm Fang. A wolf-like fanged beast that builds a charge from the storm. Charged, it calls lightning down around you. Ground the charge by hitting its head, then punish it while it lies exhausted. Push it far enough and it becomes Fulgur Skarn, a crystal-grown second form with its own attacks.
- Vorrath, the Chainwing. A bone wyvern whose wings end in chain blades. Every chain hit drains you and feeds it. At full vigor the chains burn red and it takes to the air to dive on you. Break the chains to make it lose its grip, break the crest, sever the tail.
Every monster has hitzones with hit feedback, part damage, staggers, a limping state, sleep, territory roaming, a capture window with traps and tranqs, and a carcass you carve for materials.
The hunts
- Hunting grounds. Each hunt teleports your party to its own island in a dedicated dimension: a base camp with supplies, tracks to investigate, and the monster's lair. Nothing can be broken or placed there.
- Day, dusk and night variants. Night hunts are the hard mode: shorter timers, stronger monsters, better rewards.
- Track and reveal. Follow footprints and marks to reveal the lair on your hunt display.
- Quest results. Time, rank points, coins, a reward box, your carves, parts broken, and a party table with everyone's damage share.
- Hunter rank. Ten ranks gate the contracts, the smithy and the harder hunts.
Weapons
Four weapon classes, each with its own moveset, animations and gauge, and a tier tree from iron through steel to monster gear.
- Dual Blades. Three-hit combos, Demon Mode, and the Blade Dance on a full gauge. Ashfang Twin Fangs, the thunder Fulgur Fangs, and the Chainwing Talons that drain health with every cut.
- Great Sword. Overhead and wide slashes, a three-level charge, and the tackle that shrugs off hits.
- Heavy Bowgun. Aimed fire, ammo types including sticky shells that knock monsters down, reloads and clip management.
- Insect Glaive. Rising, sweep and tornado combos, the vault into the air, aerial slashes, and a kinsect you send out to harvest red, white and orange extracts that buff you.
Armor
- Ashfang set: fire resistance, Demon Rush, Earplugs, Ashen Heart.
- Vorrath set: Wither Guard, Drain Boost, Earplugs, Wraith Vigor.
Both sets are full GeckoLib models with glowing details, and their skills scale with pieces worn.
The guild
- Guild hall hub. An instanced hub dimension with lobbies: host a hunt, join a friend's, and depart together.
- Receptionist and smithy. Fully animated NPCs with dialogue, gestures, and a story that introduces each monster across chapters with cutscenes.
- Hired hunters. Hire a guild hunter with a weapon class to fight beside you.
- Party play. Shared monster, party health on the HUD, damage contribution, and monster health scaling with party size.
- Smithy. Forge weapons and armor from carves and guild coins.
Also
- Hit feedback with damage numbers you can toggle.
- Screen shake, cinematics on first sight of a monster, monster intros with names.
- Every monster, weapon and armor piece is a hand-built model with 400 to 2,000 cubes.
Wild Hunt is inspired by monster hunting games. All models, textures and code are original.
