Wild Hunt 0.2.0-release.1 [NeoForge 1.21.1]
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Wild Hunt 0.2.0
New weapons
Long Sword — a full Monster Hunter long sword with a spirit gauge.
- Three-hit ground combo: Overhead → Thrust → Rising Slash, chained inside timing windows
- Spirit Blade chain on right-click, ending in the Spirit Roundslash
- Land the Roundslash to raise the blade: white → yellow → red, each sharpening every cut
- In the air: Jumping Slash on left-click, and the Spirit Helm Breaker — leap and ride the blade down through whatever is beneath you
Light Bowgun — everything the heavy gun is not.
- Fires at two thirds of the heavy bowgun's cycle time and reloads faster
- Barely slows you down, so you can keep moving and shooting
- Hold right-click to bring it up to the sights and put the shot on the crosshair
- A reload you can watch down the barrel: the gun tips, the drum turns, the brace dips
- Takes the same five ammo types as the heavy gun
Bow — no ammo, no quiver. The weapon is the draw.
- Hold to draw through three charge levels
- Release for a volley; the charge decides how many arrows
- Release while sneaking for an Arc Shot that bursts where it lands
- Left-click mid-draw for a Power Shot, or the Dragon Piercer at full charge
- Real arrows: they fly, they can be watched coming, and they can miss
Elemental damage
Every weapon now carries an element decided by its tier, and every monster resists what made it.
- Ashfang weapons burn, Skarn weapons carry the storm, Chainwing weapons carry dragon, and the new Maegroth bow carries ice
- You cannot burn Ashfang. Chainwing weapons do almost nothing to Vorrath or Kharzul
- Hit a monster with what it fears and you will hear it
- Armour cuts both ways: Ashfang plate shrugs off fire and cracks in the cold; Chainwing bone turns dragon aside and conducts the storm
- Weapon and armour tooltips show what they carry and what they resist
Story
Chapter 6 — Nothing Comes Back. The guild will not post this one. There is no contract, no coin, and the receptionist spends the whole chapter trying to talk you out of it. The smithy will not forge for it either — he hands your money back as a burial fee, and names the nine hunters who went down before you.
Better Combat
Weapons now use Better Combat's swing animations when Better Combat is installed. Their own combo systems stay intact — spirit gauge, demon mode, charge levels, bowgun ammo. Better Combat is not required; without it the built-in animations are used exactly as before.
Changes
- New smithy recipes spend Maegroth parts that previously crafted nothing
- Dialogue choices no longer get cut off mid-sentence
Fixes
- Fixed a weapon's idle animation carrying on after you put that weapon away, which left the wrong pose running and could hide the weapon in your hands entirely
- Fixed the long sword not registering attacks at all
- Fixed weapon animations playing on the hotbar icon instead of the weapon
- Fixed the sneak pose overriding vanilla crouch
