Watched is a slow-burn horror mod for Minecraft 26.3. It doesn't rely on constant jump scares. It builds dread over days: a figure on a distant hill, footsteps that stop when you do, a door that knocks when nobody's there. The longer you play, the closer it gets.
The Watcher
It starts at the edge of your vision and gone when you look back. Over the days it grows bolder. It stands closer, it follows you underground, and some nights it hunts. There is only ever one Watcher, and it only has eyes for you.
Things that came with it
- The Harvester tends fields that aren't there anymore.
- The Hollow waits in the dark tunnels.
- The Mimic looks like something you own.
- The Lost Child asks you to follow.
- The Mannequin only moves when you're not looking.
- The Drowned King rules a court beneath the water.
- The Ashen Hunter leaves nothing behind but ash.
- The Smiling Thing is best not described.
- The Aggresor makes you pay.
The Unmaker
Most players will never see it. If you hear a bell toll at the dead of night, don't move. If it reaches you, you are no longer part of the world.
Survive until dawn, and you'll have something to show for it.
The Witness
Not everyone out here is hostile. The Witness has seen all of this before. Find its lonely hut to trade for charms, wards and old maps, or sit and ask about the things that walk at night. It will tell you what it knows, though it may not want to talk about everything.
Explore
- Abandoned places: villages, forgotten churches, ruined mansions, shrines and underground tunnels to find.
- Lore: torn pages and journals piece together what happened to the people who lived there before you.
- Tools: ward charms, ritual chalk and more for pushing back against the dark.
Designed not to wear you out
Horror only works if you get time to breathe. Watched keeps its encounters spaced out, gives you calm after every scare, and never throws everything at you at once. Most of your time is spent waiting for something to happen.
