Wandering traders selling car insurance
You know the call. Now it finds you in Minecraft.
When a wandering trader spawns, he no longer wanders in from somewhere off in the trees — he appears directly behind you, turns to face you, and whispers, just to you, about your car's extended warranty.
Everything else about him is completely vanilla: same trades, same llamas, same despawn timer.
What actually happens
- The trader is placed a couple of blocks behind you, facing you. If there is nowhere safe to stand back there, he stays where vanilla put him instead of clipping into a wall.
- A moment later the pitch plays — only for you, and out of the trader himself, so it moves with him as he walks off.
- He keeps his usual villager mumbling to himself while he's talking.
- Each trader only calls once, and remembers that across reloads. But wait about fifteen seconds and walk back over to him, and he'll try you one more time.
Requirements
- CodxLib — required, on both sides.
- Install this mod on the client as well as the server: the audio ships in the mod's own assets, so a vanilla client hears nothing.
Supported
Minecraft 1.20.1 → 26.2 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.
Config
config/codxlib.carsextendedwarranty.json, written on first launch. Turn either half off and keep the other, or just make him quieter.
