This license governs the use, distribution, and modification of VS Shields
(the "Mod") -- a Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 addon for Valkyrien Skies 2. By
using, copying, or distributing the Mod, you agree to the terms below.
DEFINITIONS
"Mod" means VS Shields in the form of source code, compiled JAR files, or
any part thereof.
"Official JAR" means a compiled binary published by the author on Modrinth
or GitHub Releases.
"Fork" means any public or private copy of the Mod's repository, excluding
automatic forks created by GitHub as part of a Pull Request workflow.
"Derivative Work" means any software that incorporates more than 15
consecutive lines of the Mod's source code, or any complete class or method
from the Mod.
"Modpack" means a collection of mods and configuration files distributed
together for Minecraft.
"Written Permission" means explicit written consent from the author,
obtained via email or GitHub (Issues or Discussions).
"Credit" means a visible mention of the mod name "VS Shields", the author
"LennyPane", and a link to the official GitHub repository.
RESTRICTIONS
No Forking Without Permission. You may not create, publish, or maintain a
Fork of the Mod without Written Permission from the author.
No Modified Binaries. You may not distribute, publish, or otherwise make
available any modified version of the Mod's compiled JAR files.
No Code Reuse. You may not copy, incorporate, or adapt code from the Mod
into other mods or software projects in a way that constitutes a Derivative
Work, without Written Permission.
No Commercial Use. You may not sell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially
exploit the Mod, its source code, or any Derivative Work. Monetization of
Forks or modifications is prohibited.
No Removal of Attribution. You may not remove, alter, or obscure any
copyright notice or author attribution present in the source code or
compiled files.
PERMITTED USES
Modpack Inclusion. You may include the Mod in any Modpack, including
commercially monetized Modpacks, provided that: (a) only an unmodified
Official JAR is used; (b) Credit is given in the Modpack's description,
README, or equivalent listing; and (c) a link to the official GitHub
repository is included.
Server Use. Any Minecraft server, including servers that accept donations,
subscriptions, or other payments, may use the Mod without additional
permission. Server monetization is not a violation of this license, so long
as the Mod itself is not sold.
Viewing and Learning. You may view, read, and study the Mod's source code
on GitHub for educational and reference purposes.
Contributions. Pull Requests to the official repository are welcome. By
submitting a contribution, you grant the author a perpetual, irrevocable,
worldwide license to use, modify, and distribute your contribution as part
of the Mod under the terms of this license. You retain the right to reuse
your own contributed code in other projects.
TERMINATION
If you violate any term of this license, your rights under it terminate
automatically. The author may notify you of the violation in writing. You
have 14 calendar days from the date of such notice to fully cure the
violation. If the violation is cured within that period, the author may, at
their sole discretion, reinstate your rights under this license.
GOVERNING LAW
This license is governed by the laws of the European Union, in particular
Directive 2001/29/EC and Directive 2019/790, and by the national laws of
Bulgaria. Any disputes arising under this license shall be submitted to the
courts of Bulgaria.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY
THE MOD IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL
THE AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN
AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN
CONNECTION WITH THE MOD OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE MOD.
