What's new

Capture stopped being one key. There is a dial on F2, bursts, and screenshots VoxelCam takes by itself when something worth keeping happens.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.2
  • Fabric Loader 0.19.3+, Fabric API
  • Java 25, the runtime the Minecraft launcher already ships with (no launcher changes needed)

A dial on the shutter

Hold F2 and a dial opens: aim at Screenshot, Big Screenshot or Burst, and let go. Tapping F2 still takes an ordinary screenshot, so nothing changes if you never hold it. The dial's outer ring sets the burst length and the oversized size without leaving it.

Burst capture

A run of consecutive frames from one press, for the moment too short to time by hand. The manager lists a burst as a single entry you can expand, and any frame inside it can be promoted to the one that represents the group.

Screenshots you did not take

VoxelCam now catches the moments you would have missed: when you earn an advancement, when a boss bar empties, when you die, and the first time you arrive in a dimension. Each screenshot records what caused it, so the manager can tell you afterwards why a file you did not ask for exists.

All four are on by default and each can be switched off. No more than one is taken every ten seconds, so a run of advancements is one screenshot rather than five — the interval is adjustable.

This works with content mods without knowing anything about them: an advancement from any mod arrives through the same vanilla system, so there is no per-mod adapter and nothing to keep up to date.

The rule throughout is that a capture at the wrong moment is worse than none. If you open your inventory before the shot lands, it is dropped rather than saved ten seconds late — and the attempt does not spend your cooldown.

Settings that stay put

Burst length and oversized size now survive a restart. There is a settings screen behind the gear button in the manager, reachable from Mod Menu too if you have it, covering the full burst range and every big-screenshot preset — more than the dial's five-value ladders reach.

Fixes

Two UI overlaps in the manager, and the capture dial cancels cleanly on Escape.
