Verox' RPG Progression - Changelog

⚠️ Rebrand: Unbound World is now Verox' RPG Progression

Unbound World has been renamed to Verox' RPG Progression and is now the core of the Verox' RPG series.

  • New mod ID: verox_rpg_prog (was unbound_world)
  • Not compatible with existing Unbound World worlds - world progress is not carried over. Start a new world or set the stage manually with /rpg_prog stage set <order>.
  • Datapacks must move their stage files to the new namespace paths and use the new translation keys.
  • Commands are now /rpg_prog stage get|set|reset.
  • The former Unbound Loot Bags mod is now built in.

New: Territories

  • Every stage can now claim its own structures. The default stages include Woodland Mansions, Pillager Outposts, Ocean Monuments, Ocean Ruins, Ancient Cities, Nether Fortresses, Bastion Remnants and End Cities.
  • Sealed land: entering a territory of a locked stage deals damage every second and tints the screen. The damage bypasses armor, enchantments, resistance and potion effects. New death message.
  • Protected structures: until a territory's boss is defeated, nothing inside can be mined, placed or blown up.
  • Forcefield border: protected structures are surrounded by a world-border-style forcefield - red while sealed, gold while guarded. It flares up when someone tries to break a protected block.
  • Territory mob scaling: mobs spawning inside a territory get their own extra stat scaling.
  • Fully configurable per territory: structures (including tags), damage, screen tint, protection and scaling.

New: The Progression Journal

  • The guide screen has been replaced by a real in-world book with a book-style design.
  • Given to every player on first join (can be turned off in the config), craftable from a Book + Iron Ingot, and still opens with the keybind (default K).
  • Landing page with current stage, cleared stages and a marked stage list.
  • Stage pages for description, sealed dimensions, territories, main and optional bosses, and sealed items - long content continues on the next page instead of being cut off.
  • Boss pages with location hints and a full drop preview.

New: Mob Scaling with any Attribute

  • mob_attribute_scaling and territory scaling now accept an attributes list for any vanilla or modded attribute.
  • Unknown attributes are skipped, so stage files can reference optional mods without requiring them.
  • The default stages give late-game mobs crit chance and armor penetration when Unbound Lib is installed.

Fixes

  • Dedicated servers: a new stage now takes effect immediately on the server - previously item locks, ore disguises and mob scaling stayed on the old stage until a restart.
  • Dedicated servers: stage definitions are now synced to all clients on join and after /reload. The book and ore disguises now work in multiplayer.
  • StageUnlockedEvent and BossDefeatedEvent are now actually fired, including stage changes via commands.
  • Mobs are no longer fully healed and rescaled every time their chunk is loaded.
  • Stage files are no longer loaded twice on every reload.
  • Loot bag config toggle is now respected.
