# Upgraded Chests

Bigger, better chests for Forge 26.3: five upgrade tiers, chests made from almost any item, and the
features you wish vanilla chests had.

## Chest Tiers

Netherite Chests survive explosions, and the item doesn't burn in lava.

## Upgrade Kits

No need to empty a chest to upgrade it. Right-click a placed chest with an Upgrade Kit and it becomes
the next tier with everything still inside, plus its name and lock. Works on vanilla chests and on
double chests (a double chest uses 2 kits).

## Material Chests

Put **8 of almost any item** around a chest to make a chest out of it: a Dirt Chest, an Emerald Chest,
a Glowstone Chest, even chests made from other mods' items. Each one is named after the item,
coloured to match it, and styled after what it is: stone, metal, gem, cloth, earth, plants or wood.

## Features

- **Double chests:** two matching chests side by side join into one big chest, like vanilla. Huge
  doubles get a scrollbar.
- **Sort button:** one click merges stacks and sorts everything.
- **Keep items when broken:** a broken chest drops as one item with everything inside, like a
  shulker box.
- **Lockable:** lock your chest so only you can open it, break it or pull items out with hoppers.
- **Chest minecarts:** put a chest and a minecart together to get a minecart that holds the whole
  chest.
- **Shift-click** fills the whole chest, even the rows you can't see.
- **Works with hoppers and other mods' pipes**, and gives comparator output.
