Build haunting, liminal, surreal worlds with over 75 new vanilla-style blocks designed for eerie liminal and dreamlike spaces.
Though initially created for my Z-Liminex modpack, these blocks are standalone and ready to enhance any world or modpack that needs a touch of the uncanny.
This mod really shines when paired with Lost Cities, as I've ensured that all the blocks are fully compatible with that and minecraft's jigsaw structures, allowing for even more surreal and unusual structures.
Why this mod?
There are numerous resource packs that add liminal blocks to Minecraft, but because this is a mod—not a resource pack—it doesn’t overwrite any existing blocks and can introduce unique functionality, such as blocks with randomized textures when placed. Designed to match the vanilla style, these new blocks blend seamlessly with standard Minecraft blocks. This mod also introduces crafting recipes along with stair, slab, and carpet variations for most of the blocks, adding even more variety to your builds. It integrates well with vanilla Minecraft since these rare blocks are also available through the wandering trader. Who else would have such blocks? He's been places, I tell you!
Features
- 75+ New Blocks for Backrooms-Style Liminal/Dream Spaces (Counting the stair, slab, and carpet variations)
- Wandering Trader now offers trades for all the new blocks, which can be used to craft the stair, slab, and carpet variations for each.
- Herobrine and Horror Baby Plushies
- Dirt and Sand Stairs/Slabs/Carpets
Future Updates
- Cash Register
- White Picket Fence
- Office Chairs
- Vending Machines
- A Vent block for crawling through 1-block spaces
- If I feel like I need to add things like traps etc, they will also be added to this mod.
Mod Philosophy
This mod focuses entirely on providing blocks—no new structures or other additional content—just new versatile vanilla styled blocks. It’s tailored for creators who want a powerful yet simple palette to construct eerie, immersive environments. Perfect for modpacks to create custom builds, like my own modpack, Z-Liminex. Or for liminal GMOD style adventure maps.
This also avoids feature creep and keeps it focused primarily on one thing. Adding blocks to your building palette.
Extra Details/Building Tips:
This is where I will explain some of the stranger specific mechanics:
Dividers include a toggle that determines whether they connect to normal blocks. Sneak + right-click a Divider to turn this connection on or off. This is handy for making sure the back of your bathroom stalls connect to the wall for example.
