Tweakaru

Tweakaru is a lightweight vanilla-friendly Quality of Life mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge).
It adds dozens of tiny improvements that smooth out gameplay, fix annoyances, and make crafting and farming feel more natural — all without breaking the vanilla feel.

Smarter Block Interactions

Small tweaks that make the world feel more polished:

Paths and Farmland can be reverted back into Dirt.

Wool can be crafted back into String.

Carrot on a Stick and Warped Fungus on a Stick can be reverted into Fishing Rods.

Honey Blocks and Honeycomb Blocks can be broken back down in the crafting table.

Skulls can be ground into Bone Meal.

Sponges can be dried on Campfires.

Wool, Carpets, and Beds can be un-dyed in Water Cauldrons.

Crops replant automatically when harvested with a Hoe.

Farmland can be watered instantly with a Water Bottle.

Sticky Pistons can have slime removed with Shears and reapplied with Slimeballs.

Wearing Leather Boots prevents trampling crops.

Moss Blocks and Moss Carpets now block sculk vibrations, just like Wool.

Crafting Recipes:

Cobwebs are now craftable.

Saddles are now craftable.

Lodestones have a cheaper recipe.

Pottery Sherds can be duplicated with Bricks (like Armor Trims).

Smelting Additions

Compasses & Chains → Iron Nuggets

Clocks → Gold Nuggets

Raw Copper, Raw Iron, and Raw Gold Blocks → their smelted block forms

Extra Utility

Chipped & Damaged Anvils can be repaired by Shift-Right Clicking with Iron Ingots (like Iron Golems).

Minecarts can be broken instantly with Shift-Right Click (when not being ridden).

Wandering Trader has a few new useful trades.
