Pneumatic tubes you ride yourself. Build a glass tube network across your base, your mineshaft, or the whole overworld, step in, and get carried to the far end with the landscape sliding past you.
This is a 1.12.2 Forge port of Tube Transport System, originally written for 1.7.10 by Alz454 (polyrobot).
Original Mod (if you want a more detailed description)
What you get
Transport Tube
- Directional. Each tube is locked to one of the six directions, and the block colour tells you which at a glance.
- Entities inside accelerate along the tube axis until they hit the speed cap.
- Connected textures. Tubes joining tubes close up into one continuous corridor.
- Anything that walks into a tube travels: players, mobs, animals.
Tube Station
- Two blocks tall, hollow, and it is where you get in and out.
- Stand on a station over an upward tube and it lifts you into the network.
- Place stations in series and sneak to stop at an intermediate one.
Changes from the 1.7.10 original
- Undirected tubes cannot be placed. Craft the direction first. (Original guessed from the clicked face, easy to mis-lay a run.) Still craftable, still in the tab.
- Undirected tube has its own greyed out texture.
- No walk head bob, no footstep sounds while riding.
- Two tubes of different directions meeting no longer z-fight.
Config
config/TubeTransportSystem.cfg
- MaxTubeSpeed (default 0.5, range 0.0 to 10.0). High values outrun chunk loading.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.12.2, Forge 14.23.5.2860 or newer
- No dependencies, no core mods, no mixins. Nothing in vanilla is patched. Both sides.
Notes
- Horizontal transport works, but as in the original it is the less polished half.
- Long networks are chunk-loading limited.
