Trident AC

Anti-cheat and moderation toolkit for modded Forge servers: mod approve/block lists, cheat checks, consent-based screenshots and staff reports.

Beta. Anti-cheat and moderation toolkit for Forge 1.20.1 servers, built for heavily modded packs. Install it on the server and on every player's client (a player without it cannot join).

Trident AC is a tool for staff: it records and shows you what players run and flags suspicious behaviour. It does not punish anyone automatically unless an admin switches that on.

What it does

Client mod inventory

  • Every mod each player runs, with version and whether the file matches an unmodified Modrinth upload.
  • Unknown mods are only listed. Nothing happens to the player. Staff press Approve (never flagged again, across updates) or Block.
  • For a blocked mod you choose what happens on join: flag only, kick with your own message, or ban.
  • Keybind, resource-pack, brightness (fullbright) and class checks, re-run every 15-30 minutes while a player is online.

Server-side checks

  • On by default: fly, ground spoof, speed, reach, auto-click, no-fall and nuker.
  • Experimental and off by default: fast break, scaffold, killaura, aimbot and no-slow.
  • They only flag. Riding vehicles, knockback, explosions, teleports, jump pads and similar are exempted, and other mods can request an exemption through a small API.

Reports and staff tools

  • One anti-cheat report per player, listing every check that fired plus the context (held item, ping, location).
  • Players can file reports with /report, see their status with /myreports, and edit them while still open.
  • Claim / uphold / dismiss workflow, kick / ban / mute, spectate, inventory view and an optional Discord webhook.

Consent-based screenshots

  • Staff can request a screenshot of a player's Minecraft window only (never the desktop or other programs).
  • Each player is asked once per server in chat (Accept / Decline), and a notification is shown every time one is taken.
  • A screenshot can start a report and be attached as ban proof.
  • Server owners choose whether declining is allowed (requireConsent).

Setup (about 10 minutes)

  1. Put the jar in mods on the server and on every client.
  2. Start once, then op yourself (or add your name to config/tridentac/whitelist.json).
  3. Join and use /admin. Open MODS to review what players run.
  4. Want zero risk first? Set general.learnMode = true in config/tridentac-common.toml.

Commands: /admin, /trident status, /trident mods, /trident screenshot <player>, /myreports, /report.

Compatibility

Works on a plain Forge server. Optional integrations load only if present: TACZ (gun hit evidence, aim analysis) and Curios. Designed to stay quiet around vehicle mods (such as Immersive Vehicles and Superb Warfare), MineTraps and jump pads.

Privacy

  • Mod file hashes are sent to Modrinth only to find a matching upload (can be turned off with integrity.lookupModrinth = false).
  • Screenshots need the player's consent and only ever capture the game window.
  • A Discord webhook is optional and off until you set it.

Honest limits

  • Anything a client reports (mod list, keybinds, brightness) can be faked by a modified client. Treat it as a signal for staff, not proof.
  • It cannot detect cheats that only change what the client displays (freecam, ESP, wallhack).
  • This is a beta: the behaviour checks have not been tuned on many servers yet, which is why they only flag. Please report false flags with the check name and what the player was doing.
