What's new
🆕 Traffic Engine Update 2.2
This update improves sign supports, selection outlines, particle effects and lighting consistency, while fixing pedestrian railing behavior and reducing unnecessary resource usage.
🚦 Traffic Lights
- Straight and diagonal traffic lights now use cleaner selection outlines that follow their housings.
🪧 Road Signs
- All three directional sign sizes now support diagonal placement and suspended mounting beneath compatible curved poles.
- Small Road Signs now use one centered mounting connection while retaining a complete rear support frame.
- Sign poles, brackets and supports now consistently use the traffic sign pole texture with corrected texture orientation and scale.
- Traffic sign mounting clamps now match the style of traffic light clamps.
- Diagonal mounting clamps now fit around square poles without intersecting the pole or protruding through the sign face.
- Double-sided signs now use dedicated supports that remain between both panels.
- Inventory icon sizes have been adjusted to make the different sign sizes easier to distinguish while preserving their right-facing orientation.
- Arrows on 4×3 signs have been enlarged where space allows, including three-line layouts. Four-line layouts retain their existing arrow size.
- Panel edges, borders and overlapping surfaces have been improved to reduce visual artifacts.
🚧 Roadside Equipment
- Curved Traffic Pole connections have been corrected so compatible road signs can attach properly.
- Chevron curve boards, bike lane separators, curved poles and all speed bump variants now use simpler selection outlines.
- Diagonal signs, directional boards, chevron boards and bike lane separators now use the same hit and breaking particle effects as their straight versions.
- Breaking particles from double-sided traffic signs have been reduced by 50% in both straight and diagonal placement.
🚶 Pedestrian Railings and Gates
- Standard railings, sloped railings and railing gates now support all paintbrush dye colors.
- Sloped pedestrian railings now use a simple selection frame that follows the incline.
- Painting or removing paint from supporting road layers no longer changes the railing’s height or slope.
- Painted and automatically marked road layers now retain the same railing support height as their unpainted versions.
💡 LED Display Lighting
- LED display lighting is now restricted to the front of the display, preventing illumination from spreading directly behind it.
- Forward light strength and blocking by opaque surfaces are preserved.
🛠️ Improvements and Fixes
- Hidden support lines and unnecessary internal seams have been removed from supported selection outlines.
- Existing picking and collision geometry is preserved.
- Paintbrush pattern categories are now stored separately for each brush and preserved when changing unrelated settings.
- Repeated shape calculations and temporary allocations have been reduced through cached geometry.
- Duplicate model definitions have been consolidated to reduce resource size and loading overhead.
- Paint-only road changes no longer trigger unnecessary railing terrain updates.
- Performance and memory changes preserve existing player settings, lighting ranges and quality options.
