Tools Extension! is a QoL vanilla-friendly mod, adding new 3x3x1 mining tools.
It adds 3 main tools:
Hammers, which mine rock type blocks; Double Axes, which cut wood type blocks; and Spades, which dig earth/dirt/sand type blocks. Their durability is 10% better than vanilla equivalents, regardless of each ore, and their efficiency, which is a bit worse (slower).
Besides the regular versions of those tools, there are also enhanced ones. Their durability is 30% better than vanilla equivalents and also the efficiency is a bit higher (faster)! What's the catch with them? They are harder to craft, naturally, for example, you're gonna need an Enhanced Stick instead of a regular one.
HAMMERS:
DOUBLE AXES:
SPADES:
And last but not least, a cherry on top - Spaxers! The mod adds a Spaxer that is a combination of all the other 3 types. It can mine ANY type of block in a 3x3x1 area.

Any plans for 1.19?
btw keep the good work
In reply to osama_momanie:
There are plans, tho I don't know when yet
fabric pls
In reply to Chriscrz03:
I can't code in fabric so no plans for it, sorry
In reply to Marwinekk256:
ohh its ok, i had a doubt, could u make that the tools mark the blocks its going to break, like kinda framing the block, i cant figure out the angles sometimes to mine the exact 9 blocks am looking at. idk if i explain myself
In reply to Chriscrz03:
I don't think I know how to do that, but I suppose ur having problems mostly while looking up or down. It's based on head pitch so it sometimes might be buggy, tho I'm working on detecting the look angle based on the side of the block instead of player's position. If I figure it out, there will be an update and all "doubts" will fade away:)
In reply to Marwinekk256:
ohh ok thanks keep the good work :D

:)
I like this mod a lot, but there is an issue that is driving me to distraction, namely that controlling whether it mines a horizontal slice or a vertical slice seems very temperamental. My expectation is that if you hit the top or bottom face of a block it removes a horizontal slice, if you hit any other face, it mines an appropriately oriented vertical slice. I think you are trying to base it on the direction I am looking, which has issues:
1] A tiny nudge can switch from horizontal to vertical or vice-versa.
2] The only way to reliably remove a horizontal slice is to be standing on one of the 3x3 blocks that will be removed in other words, mining straight down... generally a bad idea.
Thanks for this mod, and I really hope you can address that issue.
In reply to PongoSapiens:
Thank you for reporting those things.
Mining either looking up or down is based on the player's head pitch degree, thus why it might be imperfect. Honestly I tested everything and those things you're describing, were hardly ever (not never!!) happening to me.
Can you provide me with the version of the mod that you were experiencing those issues on?
In reply to Marwinekk256:
Currently v1.4 on MC 1.18.2 with forge 40.1.52
Also seen on v1.3 MC 1.18.2 Forge 40.1.0
This most often bites when digging stairs. My standard practice when digging down is:
M
==#=
^^^
Where the M is me, and the # is the block I break. If I don't stand as far forward as I can on the block that shouldn't break and focus on the closest edge of the block I'm trying to break, I'll often break a 2 block deep, 1 block wide hole rather than the 3x3x1 block deep hole I was hoping for.
Personally I think basing the shape broken on which face of the block you are striking is a lot more reliable, and while I can see a use for basing it on head pitch, I don't think I've ever missed that functionality, Could it perhaps default to block face and have a modifier key to base it on head pitch?
As a complete tangent, sneak to break a single block would be nice.
Thanks again.
In reply to PongoSapiens:
Ok I see, thanks. I'll probably introduce something better in future updates
In reply to Marwinekk256:
Apologies, the comment about "basing the shape broken on which face of the block you are striking is a lot more reliable" was rather rude, as that is just my opinion and I'm sure you had good reasons for implementing it the way you did. I don't mind which behavior is the default, but I would like a mechanism for reliably mining in a given orientation, and basing that on block face seems to be the "standard".
Thank you for this mod. You should add emerald tools and maybe better texture for "SPAXERS" tools.
In reply to CanonSpeed:
I very much like the textures, thank you. Tho emerald items you can find here https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/emerald-more-items
In reply to Marwinekk256:
Nope, you should add emerald hammers, double axe, spades and spaxers. Can be better texture for this "SPAXERS" tools. You must be add work with "Falling Tree" mod.
In reply to CanonSpeed:
Maybe I will add an addon to this mod with other ores
In reply to Marwinekk256:
In my opinion don't add new ores. This mod so simply and this is good but why you not need add more feature. I gave you more idea.
In reply to CanonSpeed:
I don't get it XD, u just suggested to add other ores to that mod. Anyway, I'm not going to. I can create an addon with other ores for this mod, but it will be a free choice whether u want to play with or without it
