About
When a player dies, their items are stored in a grave at the place of death and can be recovered later by the player or their friends. This fork keeps the original mod's behavior and focuses on stability, smaller grave data, and safer item recovery.
What's New
- Smaller grave data — grave NBT is compressed, reducing saved size by 70–85%. This reduces chunk sync payload size and save file footprint; it does not change tick or frame performance.
- Right-click pickup — unlocked graves can be looted with a right-click. The original sneak-to-loot behavior still works.
- Safer force-mode recovery — when a grave forces items back into their original slots and a slot is occupied, non-stackable items (tools, armor, equipment) are moved to a free slot instead of being dropped. If the inventory is full, the occupying item stays and the grave item is dropped instead. Stackable items keep the original behavior.
- Betweenlands support built in — amulets and equipment are saved with the grave and returned on recovery.
- Stability fixes — corrupted friend lists are backed up instead of overwritten, commands no longer crash from a command block or console, dedicated servers no longer throw tooltip errors,
keepInventorydeaths no longer strand items, and a failing compatibility plugin no longer aborts the whole grave-capture process.
Features
- Grave block at the point of death, with configurable search radius and fluid/plant replacement.
- Camo rendering, player skull, and death angle.
- Sneak + right-click to lock/unlock, right-click to loot, collision pickup (optional sneak), locked grave + right-click to toggle force mode.
- Death inventory list with a GUI and a particle trail back to the grave.

- Commands:
tmg_drop,tmg_restore,tmg_steal,tmg_pop_grave,tmg_getDeathList,tmg_friends,tmg_toggle_render,tmg_toggle_grave_pos. - Per-player JSON inventory backups.

Notes
- If you previously relied on
replaceStillLava = falseto stop graves from replacing water, setreplaceStillWater = falseexplicitly. The old key was a bug. - On servers running Java 8 with a non-UTF-8 locale, add
-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8to the JVM arguments.
