The following information is for minecraft version 1.12.2! The 1.13.2 version of the mod is pretty similar but does not have all the same mod compatibility (because those mods haven't been updated!)
Warning: Version 1.12-4.2.0 is not 100% compatible with previous versions of the mod in terms of "other mod interaction". Always back up your game before updating!
This is a re-write of Tomb Many Graves for Minecraft 1.11.2 (by the same author, but maintained by tiffit). The mod desperately needed to be re-written in order to allow better compatibility between mods and configs to be added more easily. This version of the mod is not compatible with pre-1.11.2 versions.
Features:
- Items return to the exact same slot they were in when you died!
- Graves adapt to their surroundings!
- Grief-resistant! Only the person who died is able to retrieve their items (unless they grant access through the built-in friend system). Blocks are also virtually indestructible and can be locked so that you can't accidentally retrieve items before you're ready!
- A list of items that were on your person upon death!
Build-In Plugins:
Imagine not updating this plugin.
yikes.
So I found a bug with your addon that clashes with Baubles (Well some of them), Any Baubles being worn before picking up a gravestone get overwritten and lost (if there's more than 2 worn).
I had a miners ring and a lava ring on when I died (in lava) and put a obsidian ring on so I could survive jumping into the lava for a little bit in the hopes of the obsidian ring going to my inventory when I grab my grave but the obsidian ring just vanished once I picked my grave items up. I even went into creative mode to see if it was sat in the lava somewhere but no its just gone.
Please add travelers backpack support.
When I'm wearing a traveler backpack, the backpack deletes the grave. Using 1.12.2.
Is there any way you can add a feature that has been in other Grave mods in the past?
Basically, the features are as follows.
Number/percent of Items to Drop to grave on Death : The number of items from the players inventory that are dropped. This way you can set a value between, Drop everything (default) and drop nothing (keep inventory). If you say put 50, half your items would go into the grave the other 50% would stay on the player when they respawn. Some grave mods even split this into three sections, Inventory, Hotbar, and Armor/Shield Equipped.
Blacklists for Items Dropped : allow preventing of specific items from being dropped on death.
Amount of XP to drop, lose or save : Same with items, let you choose what percentage of XP stays with the player, and what is put inside the grave.
I'm hosting an MC Eternal PvP Server with friends and I want to make it so people can pick up other people's graves. Is there a way I could do this?
Does it have Game Stages support? What I want to do is to prevent tombstones from appearing until the player gets a certain stage.
Could there be compatability for vic's Modern Warfare (I think it is) that adds the inventory tab for the armor plates and backpacks. I died while mining and lost everything I had put into the backpack gui which was a ton of ores and other valuables, it's my mistake for not realizing that that would happen but I don't know how that's supposed to work without this mod anyways. I would love for this to not happen but I don't know how much I'm asking here.
Just realized that after some testing, it doesn't even save the backpack and plate carrier after going back to my grave, or it will simply not give me a grave if that's all I have in my inventory, as if i didn't have anything. I'm not sure who's side this is on now.
Edit: Disregard. I just saw the note on the GitHub about letting the other mod creator know about the API. I'll mention it to the Tool Belt dev instead.
Someone said it below but I'll say it too for visibility:
It would be awesome if support was added for Tool Belt. (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/tool-belt)
The mod has its own inventory slot, and if the tool belt is in that slot upon death, the tool belt will simply drop onto the ground. This is bad especially since it's likely a player would be keeping some potentially valuable things in the tool belt.
Hello, first of all, I really like the mod. I would like to report that after I died to a dragon from the "Ice and Fire" mod and I got back to the grave, before having the chance to walk on it with the list, the dragon caught me/spit fire/walked on it (I don't really know what happened) the grave block transformed into an Ash block (from its mod) RIP grave and items.
I got my items back using the special command /tmg_restore [player] <timestamp> though.
Thanks for implementing that command ahah
Am I the only one who has no idea how to fix the issue where it seems to only have the graves you have to break in order to collect instead of holding shift? Then all the items end up on the ground :/
In reply to Shin_The_Cat:
Maybe you have another mod that adds graves (like open blocks). Try to disable that in the config.
Can you add Tool Belt mod support? Now, after a death, he simply falls to the ground if placed in his slot, and not in the baubles slot. (Google translate)
It is possible to add a configurable feature (disabled by default) so if you die, the last grave will be destroyed making all the items in it drop in the ground like a normal death similar to the Totem of Holding from Quark
I think being completely unable to lose all your stuff is kinda boring so this might make things more interesting for players who want to keep the easy and organized way to recover your stuff but still want some kind of challenge...
My Grave is gone, it was in a big explosion, is this a bug, cause you said the blocks were indestructible
In reply to sssssnnnnaaakke1:
Wait. Nope nevermind
I just flew upwards from the blast :P
Playing All the mods 3, just found the end portal, stupidly decided to dig a hole from the surface and jump into the portal, didn't realize that you kept your momentum going through the end portal. Died, spawned with a grave paper, but when I went into the end my grave was not there. This immediately freaked me out because I had a Hero leveled pickaxe from tinker's that I had just lost. Further testing agrees with me that it doesn't spawn a grave.
things I have tried; repeating my "mishap." Result; same no grave.
Dying in the end through other things (ex. enderman, falling into the void) Result; Graves appear.
In reply to google1001:
You can use a command to restore your inventory in case something like this happens, I will look into it though
In reply to google1001:
It was not a bug from the mod. if any block is placed (in this case, your grave) on the obsidian spawn area in the end, the next time anyone goes through the portal, the blocks on the spawn area will be deleted. Its a vanilla minecraft mechanic to prevent being locked out of the end. I wish mojang would make the mechanic more apparent as it would prevent a lot of frustration.
Why does the death note disappear as soon as I Respawn? I've lost a few graves because of it.
Stupid question - how do you open a gravestone?
