TOBI's Vertical Hopper Controls is a lightweight storage and automation mod that expands what ordinary vanilla hoppers can do without adding complicated machines or replacement hopper blocks.
Open any hopper to control where it collects items from, adjust its transfer speed, pause it, or link it to another hopper.
Features
- Choose which direction a hopper collects items from
- Transfer items upward or downward
- Collect items from the left, right, or back
- Select from five transfer speeds
- Pause individual hoppers
- Link two hoppers across long distances
- Works directly with ordinary vanilla hoppers
- Continues respecting redstone signals
Direction Controls
Open a hopper to select one of the following modes:
- Normal — Collects items from above and outputs through the hopper's spout
- Up — Collects items from below and transfers them upward
- Down — Collects items from above and transfers them downward
- Left, Right, or Back — Collects items from a container placed on the selected side
- Paused — Completely stops the hopper from transferring items
- Vanilla — Removes the custom settings and returns the hopper to normal vanilla behavior
Left, Right, and Back are based on the direction the hopper's spout is facing. These modes require the hopper's spout to point horizontally.
Transfer Speeds
Each hopper can use one of five speed levels:
- Speed 1 — 1 item every 8 ticks
- Speed 2 — 1 item every 4 ticks
- Speed 3 — 1 item every 2 ticks
- Speed 4 — 1 item every tick
- Speed 5 — 2 items every tick
Speed 1 matches the normal transfer rate of a vanilla hopper.
Linked Hoppers
Hoppers can also send items directly to another hopper:
-
Open the hopper that should receive the items
-
Click Mark Target
-
Open the hopper that should send the items
-
Click Link to Target
Linked hoppers can be far apart, but both must be in the same dimension and the receiving hopper's chunk must already be loaded. The mod does not force chunks to remain loaded.
