Tiny Reactors

Abandoned
Build a tiny reactor... Or a massive one!

N.B. Development on the Tiny Reactors has stalled for a period of time due to events out of my control. I have had to take a temporary step back from Minecraft modding to get my personal circumstances in order and have now had time to do this. Development will resume on Tiny Reactors, taking on board all Issues currently raised on the project. I hope to have a newer and cleaner feeling build released shortly. Thank you for your continued support on the project and patience with the slow rate of development.

Tiny Reactors

(New banner art coming soon)

What is it?

Tiny Reactors is a lightweight, Vanilla-focused energy generation system.  It allows the generation of energy that is compatible with (most) energy mods out there today, including Draconic Evolution, Thermal Expansion, Immersive Engineering and more.

How does it work?

Reactors are multi-block structures that are a minimum size of 3 x 3 x 3 and contain 1 Reactor Controller and at least 1 Reactor Transfer Port.  Instructions on how to build a valid reactor structure can be found on the Wiki (https://github.com/ArclightTW/Tiny-Reactors/wiki) whilst the in-game Tiny Manual is being worked on.

Energy is generated by a valid reactor structure that contains at least one valid reactant block; by default, this includes all Vanilla ores and their block counterparts.  This energy can then be pulled from any Reactor Transfer Ports (in ENERGY mode) within the structure and used within your power system.

What can it be used for?

Tiny Reactors is a power generation mod.  This means it can be used to power a variety of machines added by other mods, such as Thermal Expansion's Pulverizer, Redstone Furnace, etc.  This mod does not add power consumers; therefore, it does not benefit from being played standalone in a pack and should be used in conjunction with other mods to attain it's maximum potential.

What makes it different?

The goal of Tiny Reactors it to remain as Vanilla-friendly as possible; as such, there are no new ores added to the world generation and no overtly complicated mechanics.  Just place a valid reactant inside a valid reactor structure, hit go and watch the power flow.  Reactors can be made to run at incredibly high efficiency levels using a combination of Heat Sinks and Air Vents, but more information can be found on these blocks on the Wiki (and, coming soon, in the in-game manual).

Note for Updating

Please note that Tiny Reactors has recently undergone a complete overhaul and is now operating on version 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT upwards.  Mods of these versions upwards will be completely incompatible with previous versions and may cause your worlds to corrupt if you try to transfer mod version without first removing all Reactor elements from your world.

Please be aware that, unless explicitly specified, it is presumed that major and/or minor version increases (e.g. v0 to v1 or v0.1 to v0.2) are game-breaking and all previous contents of this mod should be safely removed from the world before updating.  There may be legacy support, which will be specified, but this is not guaranteed.

On the counterpart, it is presumed, unless explicitly specified, that revision and or/build version increases (e.g. v0.1.0 to v0.1.1 or v0.1.0.0 to v0.1.0.1) are not game-breaking and can be safely updated at any time.
