The Lost Camera is an exploration and restoration mod created for ModJam 2026.

Discover forgotten ruins across the world, photograph their remains, and watch their original form rebuild itself before your eyes. Preserve every discovery inside your personal Field Album and slowly uncover the history of a world lost to time.

📷 A Custom Camera Experience

The Lost Camera is not a simple reskinned item.

It features a custom-built 3D model created in Blockbench, complete with its own viewfinder interface, adjustable zoom and photography mechanics designed specifically for the mod.

Explore the world and search for unusual forgotten structures.

When a ruin is properly framed through the Lost Camera:

1. Prepare a Photographic Plate.
2. Adjust your camera and capture the ruin.
3. Watch the structure reconstruct itself in real time.
4. Preserve the photograph and discovery inside your Field Album.
5. Continue exploring to complete your collection.

Every restored structure reveals a glimpse of what the world looked like before it was lost.

📖 The Field Album

The Field Album records your personal discoveries and photographs.

Browse your gallery, inspect photograph metadata, mark favorites, archive memories and uncover dedicated collection entries for every ruin you restore.

All albums belonging to the same player share the same personal collection.

🚧 Early Development

The Lost Camera is currently in early alpha and is not a finished mod.

The current release introduces the core gameplay loop and the first handcrafted ruins. Many more structures are planned, with different sizes, rarities, environments and stories.

Future development is expected to include:

• Major camera improvements.
• A more complete and polished Field Album.
• Additional restoration effects and animations.
• Expanded exploration and collection progression.
• New rewards for completing discoveries.
• More secrets hidden throughout the world.

A secret dimension is also being considered as a possible final reward for players who manage to discover and restore every forgotten structure.
