What's new

The Levelling 0.1.1-beta

This beta update focuses on clearer item information, better combat feedback, and fairer XP rewards for both vanilla and modded creatures.

Added

  • Automatic health-scaled XP rewards for unknown modded creatures.
  • Threat-based XP balance for vanilla enemies and bosses.
  • Compact, Standard, and Detailed tooltip modes.
  • A cracked icon overlay and red slot border for Broken equipment.
  • Achievement-style level-up notifications with the item icon, name, and new level.
  • Small kill-XP notifications that show exactly when item XP was earned.
  • Hoverable item sharing in chat with Shift + Middle Click.
  • A separate tooltip accent color for maximum-level equipment.

Changed

  • Replaced the plain white level-up actionbar message with a compact cinematic toast.
  • Refined the item-level panel for a cleaner, less crowded appearance.
  • Total damage values now display no more than two correctly rounded decimal places.
  • Rapid kill-XP notifications are combined instead of overlapping.
  • Unknown modded hostile creatures now scale directly from maximum health instead of using the old capped fallback.

Fixed

  • Fixed visual overlap between the custom item-level panel and ordinary tooltip content.
  • Fixed long item names extending beyond the level-up notification.
  • Fixed unknown modded creatures receiving nearly identical XP regardless of their health.

Notes for server owners

  • xp.entityMultipliers can override the automatic reward for any entity.
  • xp.maxXpPerAttack remains the final safety cap for a single kill reward.
  • Passive and neutral creatures receive half of the automatic health-based reward.

Known beta limitations

  • Combat overhauls or weapons that replace standard Minecraft attack/projectile events may require a separate compatibility add-on.
  • Full two-player dedicated-server testing and every third-party mod combination have not yet been completed.
