The Great Expansion is a feature-packed Minecraft NeoForge 1.21.1 mod that turns your world into a much bigger adventure—blending industrial progression, rare materials, custom machines, magic, exploration, powerful gear, and a huge collection of building options.

Start small by mining new ores, then grow into a full production empire. Build machines, refine crude oil into useful fuels, generate Forge Energy, create advanced materials, unlock magical tomes, and eventually open the way to the mysterious Skylands.

Build your industry

Mine a wide range of new resources, including:

• Bauxite → Aluminum

• Cassiterite → Tin

• Galena → Lead

• Cinnabar → Mercury

• Ilmenite → Titanium

• Aqualith, a rare and powerful desert gem

• Cryonite and Permafrost Iron in frozen regions

Turn raw resources into useful materials through a detailed progression system. Crush iron and charcoal into steel powder, smelt it into steel, craft beams and faceplates, then assemble steel frames and machine frames—the foundation of your industrial age.

Rare gear and mining upgrades

Discover powerful equipment for every stage of your adventure.

The legendary Aqualith set can be found by exploring desert regions and mining rare Aqualith ore. It offers a full tool and armor set with exceptional mining speed, high enchantability, and serious combat power.

For industrial survival, forge Titanium tools and armor from deep underground Ilmenite ore. Titanium gear requires both Titanium and Steel, making it a true late-game reward.

Need to clear out an entire mining tunnel? Craft the mod’s unique 3×3 Hammers:

• Iron Hammer

These heavy-duty tools make large-scale mining much faster and more satisfying.

Magic and the Skylands

Technology is only one side of The Great Expansion.

Create elemental tomes—such as Flight, Earth, Lightning, Nature, and Sky Tomes—then use Tome Emitters and the Activator Bench to unlock powerful magical progression.

Your magical journey leads to the Skylands, a new realm filled with custom terrain, Skywood, Sky Berries, sky shrines, hidden caches, and rare treasures. Craft a Skylands Igniter, activate the portal, search for Skylands structures, and uncover the elusive Skylariam Gem.

You can also use magical progression to unlock special weapon infusions such as Stormstrike.
