Project Helix brings genetics and biological research to Minecraft.
Build your own laboratory, collect samples from creatures, identify useful traits, and prepare gene treatments for yourself and your animals. Start with simple experiments, then expand into culture production, genome mapping, and more advanced research.
Build your laboratory
Process samples using dedicated equipment, including centrifuges, microscopes, incubators, and gene-editing stations. Each machine handles a step in the research process.
Discover and apply traits
Extract gene fragments, identify their effects, and check how they fit into a recipient’s genome. Balance benefits, tradeoffs, capacity, and contamination before preparing a treatment.
Grow useful cultures
Develop cultures that produce lab supplies such as CRISPR Reagent and Repair Serum. Inspect, preserve, and reseed useful strains for future production.
Expand with multiblocks
- Genome Analysis Array: identify fragments, review potential edits, store samples, and save reusable treatment plans.
- Culture Bioreactor: produce larger batches using water, nutrients, and dedicated automation ports. Choose between Steady, Fast, Clean, and Enriched modes.
Learn as you go
The in-game Field Guide includes beginner experiments, categorized machine instructions, troubleshooting, and advanced references. Interactive 3D models show how to build the multiblocks, including the reactor’s individual layers and hollow center.
