Bringing classic Thaumcraft 4 into the modern Minecraft modding ecosystem!

Thaumcraft Modern (TC4-Modern) is a compatibility and expansion addon for the original Thaumcraft 4 (Minecraft 1.7.10), designed to work with Modern Forge Connect Loader (MFCL) on Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.

Rather than recreating Thaumcraft 4 from scratch, this project enhances the original mod with modern integrations, additional features, and developer-friendly APIs.

Features

Modern Mod Integrations

JEI Integration: Browse original Thaumcraft 4 arcane crafting, crucible, infusion, and other supported recipes.

Aspect Support: View aspect combinations, ingredient usages, and alchemical furnace essentia outputs through JEI.

Jade Integration: Display essentia contents in supported Thaumcraft containers and devices.

Curios Integration: Improve compatibility between classic Thaumcraft equipment and modern accessory systems.

New Magical Aspects

Thaumcraft Modern introduces three additional aspects:

Antiquitas — Antiquity, the Past, and Ages.

Modernitas — Modernity, the Present, and Innovation.

Echo — Echoes, Resonance, and Reverberation.

These aspects are registered directly into the original Thaumcraft 4 aspect system.

Developer API

TC Modern Lib provides public APIs for accessing Thaumcraft aspects, item aspect values, recipes, and player aspect data through MFCL.

This enables future integrations between classic Thaumcraft and modern Minecraft mods.

Minecraft: 1.20.1

Mod Loader: Forge

Java: 17

Modern Forge Connect Loader (MFCL): 0.2.7 or newer

Original Thaumcraft 4: 4.2.3.5 (Minecraft 1.7.10)

Optional integrations include JEI, Jade, and Curios.

Important: Thaumcraft Modern is not a standalone port of Thaumcraft 4. It requires the original legacy mod and a working MFCL environment.

Project Status

Thaumcraft Modern is under active development. Some features and integrations may still be experimental or incomplete.

Compatibility with large modpacks and other mods may vary.
