Tessera Lib
*It sits quietly in your mod list.*
Tessera Lib is a **server-side ambient horror** mod for cozy worlds.
It does not tell you what it does. That is the point.
## What to expect
- **Nothing, at first.** Every player gets a quiet period of 30 to 90 minutes of play in a world before anything can happen. It only counts once per world, not every time you join.
- **Then: rarely.** Long enough apart that you forget it is installed.
- **Subtle.** No jumpscares. No chat messages. No fake players joining. Nothing that breaks the fourth wall.
- **It pays attention.** What happens depends on where you are, what time it is, and how you tend to play.
- **Small changes to the world are possible.** If you would rather nothing in your world is ever touched, set `"worldChanges": false` in the config.
## Multiplayer
- Server-side only: players do **not** need to install anything. Unmodded clients can join.
- Every player has their own quiet period and their own pace.
- What is meant for one player stays with that player.
- Some things only happen when you are together.
## Configuration
`config/tesseralib.json`
| Option | Default | What it does |

| `frequency` | `1.0` | `0.5` = half as often, `2.0` = twice as often. |
| `graceMinMinutes` | `30` | Shortest quiet period at the start. |
| `graceMaxMinutes` | `90` | Longest quiet period at the start. |
| `worldChanges` | `true` | Allow small changes to blocks, items and entities. |
## Compatibility

Also tested inside a 50+ mod pack, including Sodium, Iris, Lithium, Jade, Presence Footsteps, AmbientSounds and EntityCulling.
## FAQ
**What exactly happens?**
That would ruin it.
**Why is it called a lib?**
So it doesn't stand out.
**Do my friends need it?**
No. Only the server (or your own game in singleplayer).
**Can I make it stop?**
Set `"enabled": false` in the config, or remove the jar. Nothing it leaves behind is required to load your world.
**Is it scary?**
It is unsettling, not loud.
