Start here
Craft a Field Guide. It explains the controls and the first crafts. Spell power stays on you, up to 100, and refills by 5 each second. A spell jar holds its own power, up to 1000, shows the amount, and passes 1 each second to a neighboring jar that has less.
Write a spell
A writing desk takes one delivery, then effects. A modifier changes the part on its left. Name the spell and press Save. A starter book holds 1 spell and only the first parts. A middle book holds 4. A full book holds 8 and can use every part. A spell table copies the selected spell into another book.
Cast from the book, or hold a wand with the book in your off hand. A bow or crossbow can fire the book's projectile spell. A sword can cast a touch spell on the creature you hit. A shield can cast a self spell when you block.
Rituals and the workshop
Set a ritual tablet on a brazier, then start it. The tablet is used up. The ritual spends 1 power each second from a neighboring jar. Redstone pauses it.
Relays, splitters, and collectors move power between jars. Crop, lava, and mushroom taps make power without breaking the source. Robes lower the cast cost and take one token on a fitting stand.
Magic trees and magic flowers grow in the world. The rest of the blocks are things you place yourself: wood, a fence, a door, a button, and the workshop machines.
