TACZ Open Lights

TACZ Open Lights connects TaCZ weapon flashlight attachments to Open Lights, adding directional illumination, visible beams, block shadows, and colored light transmission through stained glass.

Attach a supported flashlight, hold your weapon, and press K to toggle the light.

Features

• Animated weapon lights: beams follow attachment positioning in first and third person.
• Built-in attachment support: recognizes TaCZ’s PEQ-15, PEQ-6, Nightstick, and Lopro flashlights.
• Custom gun-pack support: automatic flashlight detection and configurable attachment mappings.
• Multiplayer toggles: with the addon installed on the server, other players see your flashlight turn on and off.
• Custom beam appearance: independent inner and outer colors, brightness, angles, range, softness, and falloff, plus fog and dust settings.
• No batteries: switch weapons without losing your toggle state.

Open Lights handles illumination and shadows. Clear glass transmits light, stained glass colors it, and tinted glass blocks it. Water and ice also affect transmission.

Configuration

Change beam defaults through Open Lights’ server config, or use datapacks to give individual attachments their own profiles. Settings synchronize on login and update through /reload.

The weapon toggle can be rebound in Controls. Client settings also allow custom attachment mappings and exclusions.

Compatibility

Tested with Embeddium 0.3.31, Oculus 1.8.0, and Complementary Reimagined r5.9.3. Other shader packs remain untested.

When TaCZ Tactical Breaching is installed, the addon disables its competing Nightstick flashlight and unbinds its toggle on the first client launch. Later manual changes are preserved.

Install Open Lights on both clients and the server. Install TACZ Open Lights on the server too for synchronized weapon-light toggles.

Modpack and server use is permitted, including monetized packs and servers, under the license terms.
