🏊 Swimming & Crawling — Modern Movement for Minecraft 1.12.2
Bring the fluid movement of modern Minecraft back to 1.12.2!
This mod ports the 3D swimming introduced in Java Edition 1.13 and adds automatic crawling to Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge — with zero configuration and no extra keybinds.
✨ Features
🏊 3D Swimming
- Swim in the direction you look — dive down, surface, swim sideways
- Sprint-swim for faster movement (hold sprint while in water)
- Realistic speed cap: sprint-swim is faster than normal swimming
- Smooth backward swimming at reduced speed
🐛 Automatic Crawling
- Your player automatically crawls when in a 1-block-high space — no key to press
- Properly adjusts hitbox and eye height to fit through tight gaps
- Crawl speed is reduced (35% of normal) for realism
- Prevents suffocation damage while correctly crawling in tight spaces
🤸 Dynamic Pose System
The mod intelligently manages 4 player states:

|---|---|
| 🧍 Standing | Normal movement |
| 🤏 Crouching | Sneak key, or forced by low ceiling |
| 🐛 Crawling | Only 1-block clearance available |
| 🏊 Swimming | Sprinting in water |
- Poses are synced to all nearby players via network packets — everyone sees your correct pose
- Hitbox updates in real-time for accurate collision
🎨 Custom Animations
- Dedicated crawl render transform — your character visually lies flat when crawling
- Eye height adjusts per-pose for an immersive first-person experience

Do I need to press a key to crawl? No! Crawling triggers automatically when you walk into a 1-block-high space.
