Swamp Eater adds the Bogling, a small amphibious creature that turns unwanted items into something useful.

Boglings can eat almost anything with the exception of certain items, like shulker boxes, and give you XP in return depending of the rarity of the item. They can also automatically consume rotten flesh from the player's inventory when carried in a bucket.

Boglings are found naturally in swampy environments and Dark Forests. They also seek out dropped items and eat them, making them useful companions for cleaning up unwanted materials.

Common items are consumed quickly, while more valuable items require time to digest before the Bogling rewards you with experience. If you change your mind before digestion finishes, you can recover the item.

Bogling Colors

Boglings change colors depending on the rarity of the item they eat. Player's can lock a specific color by feeding the bogling a honeycomb and later unlock the color change by feeding it a sponge.

Tame a Bogling

You know what they say... Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day. Feed a Bogling a Glistering Melon and they'll be with you for a lifetime.

Glistering melons tame boglings when given directly from the player's hand and also fully restore a Bogling's health, whether it is fed directly or eaten from the ground. Once tamed, Boglings have a sitting state and a wandering state, and they will no longer naturally despawn.

Take them with you

Boglings can be captured and released using an empty bucket. A bogling in a bucket will eat the rotten flesh in the player's inventory and give back XP.

Item Tracking

Boglings are able to track down and consume common items. This is especially useful for cleaning up unwanted dropped items, for example seeds dropped after using a water bucket.

Built for the Swamp

Boglings are fully amphibious and have custom movement designed around their environment.

They can swim freely, surface naturally, move through shallow water, crawl beneath low leaves, walk along the submerged floor under low leaf canopies, and transition between water and land.

Boglings can spawn naturally in:

• Swamps
• Mangrove Swamps
• Dark Forests
• Modded biomes in the swamp category
