A new journal
The quest journal has three ways to read it. Switch with the bar at the top, or press Tab. The journal remembers the last one you used.
- Book: the journal reads as a book, one page at a time.
- Turn pages with the arrows in the corners, the mouse wheel, or the arrow and Page Up/Down keys. A page turns with an animation.
- Backspace or the ribbon at the top goes back a level.
- The book opens on a contents page: total progress, the quest you are following, and every chapter under its group.
- Each chapter opens on a front page (its icon, progress, description, and why it is locked) and then a list of its quests.
- A quest starts with its objectives, progress, rewards and buttons. Its story comes on the pages after that. A quest with no story shows a framed picture of its icon instead.
- Tree: each chapter's quests are drawn as a map of nodes, linked from their prerequisites to what they unlock.
- Drag to pan and scroll to zoom.
- Click a quest to open its page in a side panel.
- Quests are laid out on their own: left to right by prerequisite depth, and siblings kept in line with what they need.
- A quest can be placed by hand with
"tree_pos": [column, row]in its file.
- Islands: each chapter is a small floating island made of real blocks, with one pedestal per quest.
- The block on each pedestal shows the quest's state. Quests that can be claimed have a light beam.
- Paths join quests that lead into each other.
- Drag to turn the island and scroll to zoom. Click a pedestal to open the quest.
Chapter groups
- New: chapter groups (
data/<namespace>/svrquests/groups/<name>.json). A group gathers chapters under one heading, such as "Main story" or "Side jobs". It has a title, an icon, an order, a description, and a visibility. - A chapter joins a group with
"group": "<group id>". It can also have its owndescription. - Locks for chapters and groups:
requires_quests,requires_chaptersandrequires_groups. A chapter or group stays locked until those are finished. A chapter counts as finished when all its quests are done, and a group when all its chapters are. "visibility": "hidden"keeps a locked chapter or group out of the journal entirely, rather than showing it with a padlock.- The old chapter
requireslist still works. Each id in it now counts as whatever it names: a group, a chapter or a quest. Before, a chapter id in it could never be met. - The editor has a Groups tab for creating and editing groups. The chapter form now has the group, description and the three lock lists.
Key objectives
- A "press a key" objective can now watch only a physical key -
key.keyboard.f,key.mouse.right- whatever that key is bound to, instead of a control such askey.jump. - In the editor, the key field has a capture button: press the key, then pick one of the controls it is bound to, or the key alone.
