Description

Surveyor’s Toolbox adds a practical set of measuring and surveying tools for builders, planners, and large-scale projects. With the Surveyor’s Ruler, you can measure directly in the world without constantly checking coordinates or doing the math yourself.

Current measuring modes include:

  • Distance - straight-line distance, horizontal distance, and X/Y/Z differences
  • Polyline - measure multiple connected segments and total length
  • Rectangle - width, length, perimeter, and area
  • Box / Volume - dimensions, surface area, and volume
  • Polygon - measure irregular shapes from manually placed points
  • Walk Survey - walk around an area to trace its boundary and calculate perimeter and enclosed area
  • Interior - measure the floor area and approximate perimeter of an enclosed space
  • Slope - rise, run, slope percentage, ratio, and angle
  • Height - vertical distance between two points
  • Circle - radius, diameter, circumference, theoretical area, and approximate block interior area
  • Spacing - measure a run and find useful equal spacing intervals
  • Center Finder - locate the center of a selected area

Measurements are shown directly in the world with clear neon guides and readable measurement labels, making it easier to plan buildings, roads, plots, walls, terrain work, and other construction projects.

Finished measurements can also be marked using chalk. Chalk turns a temporary measurement into a persistent world marker that remains visible to other players and can be made in any of Minecraft’s dye colors. This makes it useful for laying out construction lines, boundaries, roads, foundations, or keeping different parts of a project organized.

Persistent measurements can be removed again with the Architect’s Eraser when they’re no longer needed.

The goal of Surveyor’s Toolbox is to make measuring and planning builds easier without replacing normal Minecraft building or turning into a full schematic/building tool.
