As of version 1.1.0, Snow will melt slowly after snowing has finished.

This is a mod that will allow snow to progressively stack and make nice snow transitions up blocks, and it isn't overdone.

It adds variety and character to Minecraft snow biomes as a tweak.

This is a fabric mod, alternatives exist for Forge and Bukkit.
