Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
StarWCraft 1.3.0
Added
- Call your ship: the first ship you fly is yours. Press H on foot (or Datapad > Travel > Call my ship) and it flies in and lands beside you, from anywhere on the world or even from another world.
- Easier boarding: looking at a ship shows how to board it, and right-click reaches a hull up to 8 blocks away, so big ships like the Millennium Falcon are easy to get into.
- Fast travel: every landmark you discover and every landing site becomes a place you can travel back to on that world (Datapad > Travel, or
/starwars travel). Pets and droids following you come along. - Compass bar across the top of the screen. It marks your story objective, board jobs, activities, your ship, where you last fell and nearby known places. Look toward a marker to read its name and distance. Boss bars move under it, and it can be turned off in SW Settings.
- Gold Saga Medals: earn all four replay medals on a chapter for a named Gold Saga Medal, a fireworks ceremony and 500 credits. Hang it on a Housing trophy plaque and its name shows on the plate. Every medal you earn for the first time also pays 100 credits.
- Star Wars life on your homeworld (the normal overworld):
- Patrols and wildlife: battle droid and stormtrooper patrols and the odd Mandalorian, Tusken raiders and banthas in deserts and badlands, tauntauns in the snow, Wookiees in jungles and Ewoks in dark forests. They're capped so they never flood the daytime overworld.
- Events: X-wings with TIEs on their tail fly over, and fighters crash-land within sight. Each crash leaves a smoking wreck and a stray astromech to adopt (give it durasteel or redstone), sometimes with stormtroopers coming for it.
- Landmarks: a Rebel hideout with a parked X-wing you can claim, droid outposts, and in deserts a moisture farm or a Jawa sandcrawler with a droid in its cage.
- Off switch: one config option (
overworldLife) turns all of it off.
- Coruscant arrival hub: you now land on a lit sky platform on a megablock roof. It has the cantina job board and the arena console, and a lamp-lit walk leads to the Jedi Temple. The Temple Archives terminal is at the foot of its stairs, and Obi-Wan and Ahsoka wait in its hall. The dark undercity is still there, one fast-travel stop away. Existing worlds are moved to the platform the next time you land.
- Controls cheat sheet (SW Settings > Controls): every StarWCraft key with its current binding, plus the mouse actions.
Changed
- Title screen:
- Continue jumps straight back into your last world.
- New Game and Load Game are separate buttons.
- Tips rotate along the bottom.
- A Chat Server button opens the StarWCraft community at hoffle.online/i/STARWARS.
- The footer credits Hoffle Studios.
- On short screens the logo shrinks so nothing overlaps.
- Begin your journey (world creation):
- Story campaign / Free play / Custom presets.
- Arrow pickers instead of shift-click cycling.
- A card that explains whatever you pick.
- A layout that fits small screens.
- Skip now really skips your journey choices.
- Datapad: a new Travel page (fast travel, call your ship, go to space). The "Landmark discovered" title now names what you found.
- Pause menu: the Holocron, Codex and Settings buttons sit in one row at the top instead of covering the menu's title.
Fixed
- Coruscant arrival: you no longer arrive at the bottom of a dark pit in the undercity, facing a wall.
- Jedi Temple quests: the Jedi origin quest ("Finish a Jedi Temple Archives job") and "The Temple Remembers" could not be finished on Coruscant. There was no Temple Archives terminal, and Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were missing. Both now work, and the tracker and compass point at the Temple.
- Vanilla mobs on planets: zombies, creepers, skeletons, villagers and farm animals no longer spawn on the Star Wars planets. Fish and other water life stay, villagers in the hand-built cities become locals, and now and then a would-be monster arrives as a trooper or droid instead.
- Landmarks in cities: random landmarks are no longer built inside the hand-built cities (Coruscant, Tatooine, Naboo).
- Spawn packs: Star Wars mobs no longer spawn naturally in packs of dozens (at most 10 hostiles in an area), and nothing hostile spawns on its own within 48 blocks of a planet's landing site.
