STALKER ENTITY

an immersive horror mod for Minecraft

⚠ REQUIRED — THE MOD WILL NOT START WITHOUT IT ⚠

GeckoLib 4.4+ (Forge 1.20.1)

GeckoLib drives the animated entities and blocks — It is not bundled inside this mod: download and install it yourself, into the same mods folder.
Without it the game will stop at the loading screen with a missing dependency error.

THINGS YOU WANT TO KNOW BEFORE PLAYING

The mod can disconnect you from your world or server (e.g. “kicked from server”) as part of certain events. It can shake and distort your screen, black it out, freeze the picture, or show moments that briefly look like a crash or an error. This is intentional — it is part of the horror experience, not a bug. You can rejoin; your progress is not lost.

Everything the mod does stays inside Minecraft. It does not touch your operating system, does not open other programs, and does not write files outside the game.

Play at your own risk. Save often if you want to be safe.

✧ It is designed to keep you on edge. Your sanity slips in the dark and creeps back in the light — and the world responds. Fog closes in. EAS-style broadcasts crackle through the silence. Something knocks at the door. Phantom torches flicker and vanish. Whispers drift where no one stands. And somewhere in the gloom, it is watching. Not the usual mobs. Something that stalks, chases, and sometimes does worse: a glitch in the world that can pull you into a void dimension and leave you there, alone, until it spits you back out.

✧ Every task can feel like it might be your last. The Stalker has many faces: watcher, chaser, mirage, sprint, fake — and the glitch that breaks the fourth wall before it breaks you. Low sanity can trigger the siren event: night falls in an instant, the alarm wails, and the Schizophrenia mob hunts you while animals turn and follow. Or a full-screen warning flashes before a chaser spawns. You can run. You can hide. Or you can lose your mind in the labyrinth — a stone maze with figures that are not quite human.

⟡ Beyond the main world — pills like Sedative X and Amneziol can steady your nerves, but nothing can erase what you have seen.

‡ NEW IN THIS VERSION ‡

What changed in 1.5.0

A copy of you. When your sanity is already low, a Clone may appear: your own shape, standing with its back turned, glitching, vanishing, screaming, or stepping out behind you the moment you look away. A rarer wanderer walks the world like another player — carrying tools, cutting trees, placing a crafting table — and even wears a nametag. Some of you will talk to it before you realise.

rAdiO. A very tall black figure that lives in the bedrock realm. Distant static while it only watches; number-station broadcasts when it starts running. It cannot be killed, it will not sit in a boat, it breaks through trees to reach you. If it lands the killing blow there is no ordinary death — the sound cuts out, the screen goes black, and something looks back at you. Then it is gone.

The bedrock realm is a real place now. A wide dead forest of charred blood oak that you can actually cut and craft. Stained ground and long trails. Radio masts with climbable steps and rotating sirens that broadcast from the speaker itself — break it and the sound dies with it. Some masts already lie fallen. On the clearings stand ruined houses: two-storey wrecks, sheds, wells, paths that end in piles of log and metal. A visit lasts fifteen to twenty minutes; the first minutes are watchers only.

Compass.sanity. A new instrument that leans toward whatever is hunting you. The needle only moves when something is truly close. Forged from iron, gold, redstone and a Soul of Fear — torn from the Schizophrenia. A field manual is handed to you at the start of a world; the craft and the reading of it are written there.

The way out of the labyrinth changed. No longer a block of stone. A bright white orb turns slowly in the dark, bleeding down its own surface, lighting the room around it. Break it and nothing remains.

Notes, books, interface. New documents can be found in the world and, rarely, in chests on the towers — evacuation orders, broadcast transcripts, field notes. Books no longer open as vanilla pages: their layouts, type and buttons belong to the mod. Health and hunger are drawn in the same style, hardcore hearts included. Many more languages are supported, including Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese and regional variants.

And it runs better. The heavy world scan that used to eat server tick time is gone. Bedrock visits are multiplayer-safe. Dying in the labyrinth no longer refunds the sanity you lost. Sleep debt and insomnia now survive a relog. Dozens of smaller fixes across the Stalker, the Clone, the shadows and the radios.

The information below contains spoilers.

Worlds and how to reach them

The overworld — your world. Here your sanity is tracked: it falls in the dark and rises in the light. When it drops, fog thickens, EAS-style broadcasts crackle, and the Stalker may appear. At very low sanity a full-screen warning can flash; then a chaser spawns and hunts you. If the Stalker takes the form of a glitch and hits you, the screen freezes, then shows an error — and you are pulled elsewhere.

The flat void — a barren, flat dimension you do not choose to enter. You land here after the glitch attack: the world is empty, the sky wrong, and distorted sounds play. Something appears in the distance and watches. Do not approach it. Do not strike it. If you do, it will turn on you. After a short time you are returned to the place you left.

The bedrock realm — if, in the flat void, you anger the watcher, it will chase you and strike. One hit sends you here. This is no longer an empty plain of bedrock: it is a dead forest under a wrong sky, with trails, ruined houses and radio masts whose sirens carry for a long way. Something very tall walks between the trees. You have fifteen to twenty minutes before the world lets you go — if it lets you go. Stay too long and you may be found instead.

The labyrinth — you enter by using the Labyrinth Gate block. Inside is a stone maze. Figures that are not quite human walk the corridors. Your sanity drops the moment you step in. Somewhere inside, a white orb bleeds in the dark — that is the way out. You can run. You can hide. Or you can lose your way.

⟡ Playing with shaders

Forge has no built-in shader support, so you need two more mods before any shaderpack will load:

Embeddium — the rendering engine (the Forge port of Sodium)
Oculus — the shader loader, requires Embeddium

Drop both into your mods folder together with this mod and GeckoLib, then pick your shaderpack in Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs.

Recommended shaderpack:
🎃 ElocinDev · Insanity Shader

Embeddium, Oculus and the Insanity shader are not included in this mod and are not made by me.
Download each of them from their own pages. Shaders are optional — the mod plays fine without them.
