A number of people have mentioned a bug where if you get too high above water it causes Squids to start spawning and unspawning repeatedly which causes huge amounts of unnecessary server/client spam causing lag.
To fix this I made a little server side mod which prevents squids spawning in regions where they would instantly despawn
The issue still persists in 1.12.2...
Will you be updating this for 1.10.2?
If you can confirm this issue is still in 1.10.2+ I can make a port/rewrite, unless hilburn decides to come back to this mod.
I don't know about the spawn/despawn bug outright but it would be nice to have some Random Tweaks to limit squid spawning in general, maybe? Like max ~20 (configurable) spawns at any given time around a player in a ViewDistance radius? Just a thought.
I'll add it, but I think I'll increase the default to 35, just so squid farms still work okay.
