Spells and Spellcrafting 2.12.30 — release notes
A heal-spell overhaul that gives every healing tier a reason to exist.
What's new
- Heal spells overhauled. Each Cure now restores a percentage of your maximum health instead of a flat amount, so a good wand no longer overshoots and turns every tier into an identical full heal — the higher tiers are finally worth casting:
- Cure Light Wounds (1 wheat) — restores 35% of max health, a cheap top-off.
- Cure Moderate Wounds (3 wheat) — restores 66% of max health.
- Cure Critical Wounds (6 wheat) — full heal, cures Wither, and grants a wand-scaled absorption shield (up to 5 hearts).
- Heal (12 wheat) — full heal, cleanses all debuffs, fire, and acid (keeps your buffs), and grants a larger wand-scaled absorption shield (up to 10 hearts).
- Wands now improve healing through absorption. The higher Cures grant overheal (yellow) hearts that scale with your wand tier, so wand investment matters for healers even at full health.
- No more wasted heals. Casting Cure Light or Cure Moderate Wounds at full health no longer consumes the reagent — it simply doesn't fire.
- Regeneration re-costed to 2 wheat + 2 string (was 2 wheat + 2 bone meal).
Fixed
- The Regeneration buff now appears on the active-buff list (top-left) with a countdown, instead of only showing among the vanilla effect icons.
Under the hood
- Heal absorption shields no longer leave a stuck shield behind when an overlapping Mage Armor or Sanctuary buff is dismissed.
