1.5
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Back in version 1.3, Space SandBox took its first major step by completely stripping away vanilla Minecraft mechanics to become a standalone cosmic simulation. Versions 1.4, 1.4.1, and 1.4.2 expanded the universe with supermassive black holes (Phoenix A*, TON 618, M87*), hypergiant stars (Stephenson 2-18), General Relativity, the Roche limit, and 64-bit (double / Vector3d) math. However, the engine was still held back by legacy OpenGL rendering and CPU-bound bottlenecks.
Version 1.5 completely rewrites the core of Space SandBox from the ground up, abandoning OpenGL entirely in favor of a pure Vulkan 1.3 API engine.
Both rendering and astrophysical calculations now run 100% on the graphics card via hardware-accelerated 64-bit Double Precision (fp64 / dvec4) Vulkan Compute Shaders.
!Attention! - This version of the mod is far from ideal. If you have weak hardware or want to play comfortably, the best choice for you is 1.4.2. In the future, version 1.5 will be improved and will become more stable and optimized.
