Souls is a hardcore post-death inventory storage mod. After you die, an angry Soul that holds your inventory will spawn. Good luck!
Features
- When you die, a Soul spawns. It will hold your items and equip your armor if any are available. You must kill the Soul to get your items back, or you can use the Pickpocket's Gauntlet to try to steal them back.
- Souls will fight back if you attack them but will de-aggro after you die.
- A Soul Identifier can be used to view information about a Soul, including the name of the Soul's owner, the amount of time since they died, and the number of items being held. The Identifier can be crafted with a Book and an Ender Pearl.
- The Pickpocket's Gauntlet can be used to attempt to steal items from a Soul. If the thief fails, however, the Soul will attack. By default, the Pickpocket's Gauntlet has a 10% success rate and 16 charges that can be refilled using Ender Pearls. The Gauntlet can be found in village blacksmith chests.
- Souls is highly configurable in order to provide the level of difficulty that you want; you can change anything from making Souls equip the best weapons and armor in their inventory to making Souls completely passive.

I really wish this would be updated to 1.16.5, It would perfect my super hard apocalypse modpack
The soul entity isn't properly localized.
It's easily fixed by changing it from
entity.souls.soul.name=Soul
To
entity.Soul.name=Soul
The mob's ID is just "Soul"
For the current lang file to work you'd need to change the mob ID from
Soul
To
souls.soul
Also the fingers on the creative gauntlet look like they're smudged, is it not supposed to be the same gauntlet texture with a different jewel?
Does this mod make the server hardcore or does it have to be in a hardcore server?
In reply to BeeBoyBop:
No, it doesn't have to be a hardcore server.
this is the best mod of all time
Hey :)
What shader you use to the images of the mod?
In reply to ActurusKun:
Don't remember for sure, but I think it was either Sildur's Vibrant or SEUS Ultra.
In reply to Chaosyr:
Ok, i will try the two
Would love to see a 1.16.1 version! This mod is so cool!
it is unfortunate that the soul (skeleton) does not pick up the most powerful weapon from the inventory and does not know how to shoot from a bow or crossbow (from other mods).
it would be perfect ... but still a good modification. I hope you finish it! Good luck
In reply to rabotyaga248:
Late reply.
While it can't shoot a bow or crossbow, you can change the config to make it so it chooses the gear with the highest stats.
could you add a permanent glowing potion effect to the skeletons or a marker of some sort? it's near impossible to find them again after a dragon attack from ice and fire
Do souls spawn in peaceful/despawn if changed to peaceful?
In reply to heasthrgef:
They despawn. I found this out the hard way - and I only turned to peaceful because a new mob I had added was bugging out and I just wanted to get my inventory before restarting the game. Whoops!
Can you make them aggro all the time?
In reply to mairantv:
What shader do you use in your screenshots?
In reply to Forge_User_81626240:
Great idea for sure :D
I would make them OP as hell, 'cause when you use the DBC mod by Jinryuu you can do well over 5m damage
Edit: but that's what I'll do to themπππ
