Mod: Soulbound Sigils
🧙 Core Gameplay
Soulbound Sigils grants you the power to tame creatures.
No longer limited to wolves and cats — nearly all mobs, from zombies and skeletons to iron golems, and even the Ignis from L_Ender's Cataclysm, can become your loyal companions. Through a magical ritual, bind your soul to a creature, and they will be your lifelong ally.
📦 Key Items
1. Mana Chisel ( soulboundsigils:mana_chisel ):
A special tool forged from Nether Stars. Mining stone with it yields Inert Sigil Stones.
2. Inert Sigil Stone ( soulboundsigils:inert_sigil ):
A dormant magical gem that must be charged in a ritual before use.
3. Charged Sigil Stone ( soulboundsigils:charged_sigil ):
A sigil stone infused by ritual power. Right-click a creature to attempt taming.
4. Soul Tether ( soulboundsigils:soul_tether ):
A magical cord. Right-click a tamed creature to store it inside; right-click again to release it.
⛪ Ritual System
1. Build the ritual structure: Place the Ritual Altar, then set up Ritual Pedestals in the correct positions around it as guided.
2. Offer magical materials: Place magical items on each of the four pedestals.
3. Insert the sigil stone: Right-click the altar to place the Inert Sigil Stone inside.
4. Ritual process: The ritual runs automatically. Once all materials are consumed, the Inert Sigil Stone transforms into a Charged Sigil Stone, with varying taming success rates based on the offered materials.
🐺 Tamed Creature Behavior
1. Follow: Tamed mobs follow their owner. They teleport to you if too far away.
2. Protect: When the owner is attacked, all nearby tamed mobs immediately target the attacker.
3. Coordinated Attack: When the owner attacks a mob, nearby tamed mobs focus fire on the same target.
4. No Friendly Fire: Tamed mobs will not attack their owner, allied players, or other tamed mobs of the same owner.
5. Name Display: Tamed mobs show their species and owner name above their heads for easy identification.
🧩 Soul Tether
1. Capture: Hold an empty Soul Tether and right-click a tamed creature to store it. The item tooltip shows the stored creature’s name.
2. Release: Hold a filled Soul Tether and right-click any block or air to release the creature at your crosshair.
One tether can hold only one creature at a time.
⚙️ Config File
All key values can be adjusted in config/soulboundsigils-common.toml :
1. Material Bonuses: Success rate bonuses from each magical material.
2. Taming Blacklist: List of untameable entities (includes Ender Dragon, Warden, Wither, etc. by default).
3. Tool Durability: Maximum durability of the Mana Chisel.
Notes:
1. Do not remove the Warden or Wither from the blacklist and attempt to tame them. Their targeting AI is unique; they will still lunge at you even when tamed, though dealing no damage.
2. New mobs spawned by splitting tamed creatures (e.g., Slimes) remain hostile to players.
3. Tamed creatures retain their original attack patterns.
