Soulbound Initial Release!
New Material: Pneumite
Pneumite is the main material used for the mod. It can be found as pneumite ore throughout the Overworld and (if enabled), even in the Nether (Netherrack/Blackstone) and the End. Pneumite ore drops pneumite fragments, nine of which can be used to craft a pneumite shard. Pneumite shards are used to craft most of the items in the mod. Pneumite catalysts are used as fuel for the Charm of Kinship and Dais of Resurrection, as well as in some recipes.
New Item: Charm of Kinship
When used on a tamed entity and provided with fuel (catalysts), the Charm of Kinship will form a soullink between the creature and its owner. This soullink will allow the creature to be summoned with the Pneumite Whistle, and revived at the Dais of Resurrection if it dies. Soulbinding consumes the required amount of catalyst, as well as the charm itself. To be soulbound, an entity must have an entry for its type in the soulbind-settings json!
Note: Due to the way Minecraft handles horse entities, this does not currently work on horses, donkeys, mules, llamas, or modded entities that extend AbstractHorseEntity!
New Item: Pneumite Whistle
When right clicked, opens a gui that allows the player to view all their current soullinks. Soullinks can be sorted by entity type, and dead entities can be shown or hidden. Entities can be selected and summoned to the player via this menu. Dead entities cannot be summoned. Make sure to provide adequate room for large entities! Summoning is limited to entities that are in the same dimension as you are.
New Item: Stone of Holding
When right clicked on an entity, will pick up that entity (if it is valid to carry). Right clicking again will respawn the entity in the world. Only one entity can be carried at a time. Only creature entities can be carried, and their type must have a defined entry in the holding-stone-settings json!
New Item: Pet Tag
Pet tags are a weaker, craftable version of the name tag. They can only name creature entities, and can be configured to use a blacklist/whitelist for viable entities. They will not prevent despawning (however, most creature entities don't despawn). Using a pet tag will automatically update a creature's soullink to display its new name (if it has a soullink).
New Item: Eye of Seeking
The Eye of Seeking can be used to locate an entity of a specific type, when crafted with a defined item in the crafting grid. These entries can be defined through the seeker-settings json. Right clicking the eye after it has been attuned to an entity will highlight nearby entities of that type. This will use some durability. Rarely, the eye may not see what you expect it to :)
Currently seeker eye settings don't show up as a recipe ingame or in JEI. This may be altered at a later date.
New Item: Ownership Transfer Contract
The Ownership Transfer Contract can be used to switch the owner from one player to another. As such, it has little use in singleplayer. Right clicking on an entity you own will bind the contract to it (at this stage, the contract can be overwritten to a new entity by right clicking a different one). Only entities you own are eligible. Next, the new owner must right click the contract to sign it. Once the new owner has signed the contract, it cannot be changed to a new entity or different new owner. Finally, the current owner must validate the contract by right clicking the entity again. Doing so will break any soullink it has with its current owner and then transfer it to the new owner. It will not be automatically soulbound to the new owner. Can be configured to use a blacklist/whitelist (but still only works on tameable entities).
New Block: Dais of Resurrection
When right clicked, opens a gui that allows the player to view all their current dead soullinks. From this menu, dead pets can be revived (consuming catalyst in the process). Reviving an entity will respawn them atop the dais. Make sure to allow adequate room for large entities!
Additional Notes and Features:
-If a pet dies while the owner is offline, they will receive a message upon logging back in. If the entity was soullinked, it will still be revivable
-Owners will also receive a notification if a pet is transferred to them while they are offline
-Many things are configurable. Some can be altered through a normal config/gui, while others can be edited through the json files in the soulbound folder in config.
-Default configurations are generated for the following mods if Soulbound is loaded while they are active and the soulbound config files do not exist-
- Alex's Mobs
- Atum
- Blue Skies
- Environmental
- Exotic Birds
- Frozen Up
- Ice and Fire (additional built in support for handling dragon size in the GUI)
- Quark
- Rats
- Twilight Forest
- Unnamed Animal Mod
- Upgrade Aquatic
- Vanilla Degus
- Waddles
- Wyrmroost
-Advancements and recipes for mod items
Known Issues/Etc.
-Due to the way Minecraft handles horse entities, soulbinding does not currently work on horses, donkeys, mules, llamas, or modded entities that extend AbstractHorseEntity.
-Seeker eye recipes are not visible in vanilla crafting book or JEI (refer to seeker-settings to see them)
This is a beta release. Bugs and issues may be present. Multiplayer functions for this version have undergone limited testing. In particular, the Ownership Transfer Contract has faced limitations in testing.
