SoulBind — Storm Bonds

Bind any item — even modded — to yourself with lightning and keep it when you die. Forge the tome in a thunderstorm, brew permanent hearts, call the storm.

Soulbind — Storm Bonds

Bind any item to yourself with lightning — and keep it when you die.

Storm shards drop from every mob in the world. Throw ten of them in a pile under an open sky during a thunderstorm and the lightning forges them into a tome. Bind an item with that tome — anything, vanilla or modded — and it stays in your inventory when you die, in the exact same slot.

Built for survival servers, RPG worlds and heavy modpacks where dying should cost you something, but not the sword you spent a week building.

Features

Works on any item The bond is a data component, not an enchantment — no tags, no anvil, no conflicts with other enchanting systems. Tools, armour, guns, backpacks, anything a mod adds.

Death keeps nothing Bound items are taken out of your inventory before vanilla can drop them and returned to the same slots on respawn. Nothing scatters, nothing burns, and a server restart mid-death changes nothing.

A marker you can read at a glance No enchantment glint. A shimmering "Storm Bond" line sits under the item name, and a small lightning badge marks the icon in your inventory and hotbar.

Take the bond back Drop a bound item under an open sky in a thunderstorm and lightning takes the bond, refunding 9 shards. One tome binds one item, not a whole stack, so bonds can't be multiplied.

Storm boots Bind a pair of boots: +50% movement speed while it's thundering, and sparks arcing from your soles whenever you sprint.

Permanent storm hearts The Storm Brew adds one heart forever — +2 HP that survives death, up to 60 HP in total. The health bar never grows a second row: it keeps ten slots and re-skins them, ordinary hearts up to 20 HP, storm hearts to 40, greater storm hearts to 60. Damage peels the top layer first.

Call the storm The Storm Clock summons a thunderstorm for 5–10 minutes on a one minute cooldown.

3D models, glow and sparks Every item is a real model built from boxes, not a flat sprite — the brew's liquid genuinely shimmers. Mod items render fully lit in hand and in the world, shaders included, and anything lying on the ground crackles with sparks.
