Overview

Sophisticated Adventures is an addon for Sophisticated Backpacks that adds a suite of hand-crafted adventure upgrades. Each upgrade installs directly into your backpack's upgrade slots and works whether your backpack is worn, held, or carried. No new machines, no bloat — just pure exploration gear that plays fair: upgrades consume real resources from your backpack where it counts.

The Upgrades

Grapple Upgrade

Fire a grappling hook toward your crosshair and reel yourself in.

• 48-block targeting range
• Smooth speed ramp-up with a satisfying pull
• Perfect for swinging across ravines, escaping mobs, or scaling cave walls
• Default keybind: G (rebindable)

Glider Upgrade

Deploy a parachute-style canopy mid-fall and drift like the wind.

• Hold R while airborne to open your glider (rebindable)
• Slow, controlled descent (~3 m/s) — zero fall damage while deployed
• Steer and drift freely with WASD
• Beautiful curved fabric canopy rendered above you — visible to other players too
• Chain it with the Grapple for full traversal freedom: hook, release, deploy, soar

Torch Upgrade

Your backpack lights the way — automatically.

• Places a torch straight from your backpack's inventory every 25 blocks traveled
• Consumes real torches — balanced by design, no infinite light
• Smart placement finds valid ground near your feet as you explore
• Toggleable per-backpack via the upgrade's enable/disable switch

Installation

1. Install NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1
2. Download and install Sophisticated Backpacks (+ Sophisticated Core) — required
3. Pick a version and pick a valid instance, thats it!
4. Craft an upgrade, install it in your backpack, and go adventuring!

FAQ

Q: Does the grapple work on any block? A: Yes — if you can see it within 48 blocks, you can grapple it.

Q: Do gliders protect me from fall damage? A: Yes, for the entire time the canopy is deployed. Land softly, land safely.

Q: Where do torches come from? A: Your own backpack! The Torch Upgrade is honest work — no torches in the pack means no placement.

Q: Can I change the keybinds? A: Absolutely — all keybinds are fully rebindable under Options → Controls → Adventure Upgrades. Swap them however you like.
