Smooth Spellblade Compat

Smooth Spellblade Compat is a compatibility layer for Spellblades and Such 2.4.0 on Minecraft 1.20.1 Fabric, allowing it to run with the modern Spell Engine and Spell Power ecosystem.

Spellblades 2.4.0 was built around older Spell Engine and Spell Power APIs. Newer versions of these libraries introduced significant API and data format changes, causing startup crashes, broken spell loading, runtime errors, and incompatible custom spell behavior.

This mod bridges those differences without modifying the original Spellblades JAR.

Requirements

This mod requires:

• Minecraft 1.20.1
• Fabric Loader
• Fabric API
• Spellblades and Such 2.4.0
• Spell Engine 1.10.7 or newer compatible 1.20.1 build
• Spell Power 1.6.0 or newer compatible 1.20.1 build
• Extra Spell Attributes 1.4.0

All required mods must be installed together.

Installation

1. Install Fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1.
2. Install all required dependencies.
3. Install Spellblades and Such 2.4.0.
4. Place Smooth Spellblade Compat in your mods folder.
5. Launch the game normally.

Do not remove or replace the original Spellblades and Such JAR. This project is a compatibility addon, not a standalone replacement.

Why does this mod exist?

Modern Spell Engine releases significantly changed several internal and public APIs compared with the versions used when Spellblades 2.4.0 was built.

Smooth Spellblade Compat provides compatibility shims and migrated data so the original mod can continue working alongside the newer RPG Series / Spell Engine ecosystem on Minecraft 1.20.1.
