β¨ NEW & UPDATED FEATURES
ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π¦ Courier Upgrade
Added the new Courier Upgrade.
The Courier Upgrade makes transporting items between linked storage locations
much easier by automatically moving configured items from one location to another.
π‘ Quick Access Wheel Upgrade
Added the new Quick Access Wheel Upgrade.
Press the configurable Quick Access key (default: G) to open a radial shortcut
menu.
You can configure up to 8 favorite items or tools from your backpack and select
them directly from the wheel without first opening the full backpack GUI.
π₯οΈ Storage Network System
Added an entirely new Smart Backpacks storage network system.
New additions:
• Storage Controller
• Storage Cable
• Portable Storage Monitor
Create your own large storage room using Smart Backpacks!
Place backpacks around your storage room and connect them to a Storage Controller
using Storage Cables.
The Storage Controller gives you one central interface for accessing the contents
of all connected backpacks.
Items remain physically stored inside the individual backpacks while the
Controller provides one combined storage view.
Storage Cables form the physical connection between backpacks and the Controller.
The portable Storage Monitor can be linked to a Storage Controller and used to
access your storage remotely.
Cross-dimensional Storage Monitor access is also supported when the target
storage network is available.
πΎ Mob Backpacks
Hostile mobs can now rarely spawn carrying Smart Backpacks!
Supported mobs include:
• Creeper
• Drowned
• Husk
• Piglin
• Pillager
• Skeleton
• Stray
• Vindicator
• Witch
• Zombie
• Zombified Piglin
Backpacks carried by mobs contain randomized, balanced loot.
The backpack color is also matched to the mob carrying it.
Examples:
• Creepers use green/lime backpacks
• Zombies use dark green backpacks
• Skeletons use light gray backpacks
• Drowned use cyan backpacks
• Pillagers use gray backpacks
Kill the mob and its backpack can drop with the generated loot still inside.
Mob Backpacks are intentionally rare and are designed to provide a fun bonus
while exploring without becoming an overpowered source of backpacks or loot.
π¨ Full Backpack Dye Support
All Smart Backpacks can now be dyed using all 16 vanilla Minecraft dye colors.
The dye system works across backpack tiers and colored backpacks retain their
color when:
• carried
• worn
• placed
• picked up
• upgraded
• stored
This also makes it much easier to organize storage rooms by color.
βοΈ Built-in Config Rework
The built-in Smart Backpacks configuration screen has been completely reworked.
The old configuration interface has been replaced with a much cleaner and more
modern control center for Smart Backpacks.
Improvements include:
• Completely redesigned interface
• Better category organization
• Easier navigation
• Searchable settings
• Cleaner upgrade configuration
• Support for newer Smart Backpacks features
• Storage Network settings
• Mob Backpack settings
• Improved setting descriptions
• Improved readability
• Easier access to advanced configuration options
• Better overall usability
The built-in configuration screen is intended to make it possible to manage
practically every safe, user-facing configurable part of Smart Backpacks without
manually editing the configuration file.
𧩠Trinkets Support
Added Trinkets support for Fabric.
Backpacks can now integrate with the Trinkets equipment system on supported
Fabric installations.
π Bonus Chest Support
The Minecraft starter Bonus Chest now contains a guaranteed Leather Backpack.
This gives players a small Smart Backpacks starter option when Bonus Chests are
enabled for a world.
π New Advancements
Added unique advancements for every backpack tier and upgrade.
Progressing through Smart Backpacks now comes with many more advancement goals
to discover and complete.

π LICENSE UPDATE
ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
Smart Backpacks now uses a new custom license.
β¨ Addon development is now officially allowed.
Mod developers may create:
• Compatibility mods
• Integrations
• Plugins
• Extensions
• Addons
Developers may use publicly available Smart Backpacks classes, events, tags,
capabilities, data components, and other provided integration points when
creating independent addons.
Addons may be open-source or closed-source.
Smart Backpacks must remain credited to SmartStreamLabs.
Reuploading, redistributing, mirroring, or bundling the Smart Backpacks JAR is
still not allowed without permission.
Copying substantial portions of Smart Backpacks source code or reusing original
