Meteorites
Every so often, something burns through the sky.
A meteorite streaks down in fire and smoke, slams into the ground near a player, and leaves a smoking crater. Dig into it and you'll find a core full of ore: iron, copper, gold, raw iron blocks, and — if you're lucky — diamonds and ancient debris.
It turns a quiet server into one where people drop what they're doing and race to the crash site.
How it works
- Every 30–60 minutes (configurable), a meteorite lands 48–128 blocks from a random online player.
- Everyone gets a warning in chat when it appears in the sky, and the coordinates when it lands.
- The crater has a shell of blackstone, basalt, magma and obsidian around an ore-rich core.
It won't wreck your base
- No impacts near world spawn (96 blocks by default).
- No impacts near chests, furnaces, beds or any other block entity — a simple way to avoid player builds.
- No impacts right on top of players, and never on water or in the Nether.
- No fire. Bedrock and other unbreakable blocks are never replaced.
- Prefer no terrain damage at all? Set
breakBlockstofalse.
