This mod aims to fill a few gaps in vanilla Minecraft by adding corn, integrated in a way that makes gameplay smooth and unchanged from the vanilla style.
I'm not much for writing but stay with me!
I'll keep it short and simple.

Features:
Corn kernels can be obtained from breaking grass at a slightly lower chance than seeds.
Corn crops are 3 blocks tall, (comparable height to real life) and the growth stages are below:
Ears of corn can be crafted into more kernels or cooked to produce a food meant to be comparable to a vegetarian counterpart to steak.
Chowders add another use to milk that I feel is lacking in Minecraft:
Corn fields also generate in villages and kernels are valid chicken tempting items!
Craft a firework with kernels and it explodes into popcorn! Just for fun. :)
warning: if you craft it with any dies or effects, they will be lost.
Also in corn is valid for Immersive engineering ethanol and makes 120mb
Due to numerous issues with harvesting mods, Versions 2.3.5+ now include a config option for easy right click harvesting!
And that's it, I hope you enjoy!
Please leave any feedback or bugs you may have, especially for balance/ tweaking numbers.
Technical/special details
•Corn adds a new plant type, denseCrop, which has 3x3 rows of quads instead of 2x2.
•Fully grown corn slows down the player by 65%, try making a corn maze!
•Crops check twice when harvested (once per top two blocks) and have a 60% chance of dropping 2 ears OR a 90% of dropping 1. This means a small chance of getting nothing with a maximum yield of 4.
•Corn can technically be grown wiwh bone meal but It will take a large amount (10-20)
•Corn doesn't have any +- system for growth like wheat does. Place anyway you like.
•Chicken chowder can also be crafted with a bowl of corn chowder and a cooked chicken.
•Corn fields have a generation weight of 30
Planned Features
•None left! Feature complete!

A config file for 1.16.5? Maybe im overlooking it.
Come Down Today and Try Some Corn or We will Sacrifice your New Born AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
So happy to see this mod updated to 1.16. Btw, think you could add compatibility for Farmer's Delight and/or TeamAbnormals' mods?
Hey guys I just think this mod is just one of these little mods that should be in vanilla. So i decided to make a little showcase about this mod:
Hello.
1.16.5 version almost done.
In reply to cleverpanda714:
Thanks a lot!
BTW, any chance for a Fabric port?
In reply to Vico_13:
Likely zero.
In reply to cleverpanda714:
And can others fork the mod to add support for Fabric?
Please add 1.16.5
Thanks for keeping this mod alive. Simple but yet my most favorite :)
For me, when HarvestCraft is installed, the ear of corn from your mod doesn't render the item in the recipe grid for HC foods.
It's there, because the tooltip appears; it's just invisible. It's a bummer, because I wanted to use your corn along HC. I mean, I think your corn is better, but I just want the recipes from HC...
Also, the only thing I would change about this mod, is the color of the crops... IMO, that yellow is just too bright...
No matter how hard I try, I can't craft the fireworks, I did everything
Just gonna say this, for those playing this mod alongside cyclic, don't use the garden scythe near corn,. you'll get a stack overflow error and crash the internal server.
If y'all want to be safe, just blacklist corn for the garden scythe in cyclic's config.
Wow, did you get a lot of grief over the textures at the beginning of this mod's life.
I play in 32x. I couldn't figure out how to get your original textures, so I ended up downloading a version 1 file, uncompressing it, and pulling the textures from that.
In reply to Echo_Weaver:
Ha! Definitely. I've since changed my mind for consistency's sake while playing. mixed resolutions aren't fun; not every mod is available in 32x
In reply to cleverpanda714:
Yeah, I agree, but then I can't quite reconcile myself to 16x. It's *so* coarse, and once I start adding mods, it starts getting to be hard to tell some stuff apart. I play with Lithos, and I hunt down 32x textures for everything I can. I've even made some for common items in EBWizardry, though a graphic artist I am not ;).
At any rate, the textures from v1 made a good texture pack for this mod. Glad Curseforge had the files going back that far :).
Hi cleverpanda, have you changed your mind about ports for major versions beyond 1.12.2?
In reply to Geethebluesky:
I have not had much time. I have most of a 1.14 port but things like village spawning, temptation items, and breeding items I could not figure out how to port. You'd be surprised at how many non-supported/standard things that are in a 'simple' mod. When I get the time, it will likely be a 1.15 version.
Hello! Thank you for the mode. I’ve seen issue with translations https://github.com/cleverpanda/SimpleCorn/issues/22 but ingame everything is still in english despite clients’ other language.
